Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

Arndt apparently also had issues with Abrams idea on what the Millenium Falcon should now look like. Abrams is supposed to want it to look like Doc Brown from BttF has had a go at souping it up.

Not sure what Doc Brown's souping up actually looks like, i guess its lots of hoses wrapped around everywhere and its powered by Mr. Fusion????

I have a feeling Kasdan is going to find Abrams to be his new Lucas. :lol

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

From who?

Lucasfilm did the press release on this Thursday and its been on most news sites, not just fansites. :lol

The press release didn't say he was fired. In fact, it almost seemed to praise his work. I'm just curious as to whether that is actually the case, or if there was a rift behind the scenes. We've had no confirmation of anything beyond he's written the screenplay, and now two others are working on it. We don't even know if they're just fleshing things out more, or writing something completely new. All we have is rumor.

I didn't say he was quit or fired, you said fired/quit, that covers quite alot of territory. :dunno

Unless you meant you do believe he was off the project, but just wanted to know which he was; quit or fired, but theres a 1000 ways you could have wrote that better. I read it as you not believing he was off the project at all.

Abrams stated it's an all new movie focusing on new characters. I wonder what that means. Wasn't this based on an idea by Lucas? Was it such a broad and general idea that you can just swap out the characters freely? Hmmm. That's reassuring to me that Lucas has that little involvement with the story. Great visionary but has trouble getting that vision of there. I had faith in Arndt but honestly JJ is a SW fan and Karsdan is no stranger to SW. I guess I'm ok with this news.

Kasdan did the screen play for Empire and Raiders of the lost ark, right? i think its in safe hands..)

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

Awesome. :lol

I was at a wedding reception last night Jye (at the couples' house), & they had a beautiful little fluffy white Persian cat that was casually strolling through the apartment. They put a little sparkly ribbon thingy around her collar to dress her up for the occasion.

Pretty damn cute - I should've taken a photo. :lol

And the way you worded your response made it seem like, "Yeah, he was fired. It's all over the internet." when that's not the case. I know he's off the project, I just want to know if it's because his role has been fulfilled, or if there were creative differences, etc. Everyone is saying he was fired or quit, but nothing official has said that. Kathleen Kennedy praised him, so I want to know the real scoop. :peace

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

Hm, interesting Ford wanted a multi-episode deal. I kinda figured he'd have asked to kill Solo off in VII like he wanted to do in Jedi. Maybe ultimately he does go out in a blaze of glory, though. That would be cool.

In regards to Indy, meh. Only one worth watching, IMO, is the first one.

Kasdan rewrote Return of the Jedi, the first draft written by Lucas made AotC look like an Oscar winning emotional drama. It had Luke going to the Emperor's underground palace, where Obi-Wan chooses to return from the dead and fights the Emperor whilst Luke battles Vader. If it had been filmed it would've killed the franchise.

It was also Kasdan who changed the title to Revenge of the Jedi before Lucas changed it back again.

looks like it could be true, Harry is very intelligent so hes made sure he gets the indy five deal too, so it will be late 2015 when its starts filming indy, Harry will be 73 then but im more then sure he is capable and will look good on it. i hope he is in all three star wars films, i dont want him to get killed off but i think he will..Last crusade is a classic

From what ive heard Ford will only be making an extended cameo in Ep VII, so he's made sure financially he's got them no matter which way Abrams and Kasdan go in Eps VIII & IX.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

Its great to hear Ford may be in more than just Episode 7. Hopefully both Luke and Leia will also be around for the whole trilogy and not killed off prematurely.

I'd like to see him in all three since I like Ford a lot, but I think it would be great for Han's arc if he dies doing something important and heroic at the end. Other characters don't really need to be killed off with him. They could just have Luke and Leia kind of recede into the background.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

I still can't believe Harrison Ford is in his 70s. ****in 80 is the next milestone age for him. Where does time go.

i can see them killing him of in IX as Harry will be 77 when it comes out in 2019.
