Offttt too soon? !

Already showing his age. Solo should not be in this movie, there I said it.

Ford has always been haunted by "mechanisms". Dangerous to have around him now. And you all better hope no one leaves a red Corvette around Mark Hamill.

Action scenes with the Original cast should not be happening.

What do you mean my "mechanisms"?

And I disagree to an extent. It depends what the older actors are going to be doing. Running, jumping, punching? Yeah, that can look bad. I hated in Star Trek Generations how Kirk was boxing with Soren. It looked ridiculous. But if they are in a more stately, wise elder role, then why not? I can see Ford like an old General in the military barking orders. Or even piloting the Falcon would be okay.

You know what? I take that back slightly. I think Ford was fantastic in Cowboys and Aliens, and he was fairly active in that. Favreau knew how to use him. Just depends on how they're used.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (12/18/15) Discussion Thread

Ford as a general/commander and pilot of the Falcon is all I'm expecting to see, and I think that's what's for the best.

What I'm most concerned about is if they make Leia a jedi and if she has action scenes. I'm betting that if they do make her a Jedi, she and Luke will be like the Obi Wan type in ANH. If she isn't a Jedi (which would be a shame) I think she will be in politics or be like Mon Mothma :lol

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (12/18/15) Discussion Thread

The Anakin and Obi Wan duel was better than any battle in the OT.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (12/18/15) Discussion Thread

sigh

OT > anything in the PT

Its not about how fast you can spin the lightsaber or about doing back flips, its the emotion of the scene.

PT battles mean absolutely nothing to mean.

That's fine and I agree about the emotion being more important, but that fight was better choreographed than any lightsaber duel in the OT. Except for the lightsaber spinning part. But that's like 30 seconds of a 15-minute battle.

Not everything in the PT was bad.

I felt the emotion of the Ani vs Obi. If I had anything to say against it, it would be that it lasts too long. :dunno

Then one can only imagine how much better it could have been had the characters been handled well in the preceding 2 films.

That's really the crux of what I find so frustrating about the PT. Not so much how crappy they were, but how much better they could have been.
