They definitely have shyyt on lock down otherwise there would be SOMETHING by now. But something is gonna slip soon, there's just no way it can't.

All being held for SDCC.
Disney is going to own SDCC with Avengers 2 and E7.
Not even the mighty Batman vs Superman showdown will be able to beat Disney, Affleck is going to have to work very hard.

Unless they show something at SDCC, you know just a 20 second teaser, just the logo and maybe we hear a voice over, Luke saying "here we go again". Something along those lines, and we'll all pee our pants!

Is this just an hunch? Cause we know for sure they're trying to save surprises for the actual move. I could see them showing some shyyt at SDCC, but nothing of importance, yet still much more than we have now.

A Christmas teaser seems plausible. I'm thinking we may get a special behind the scenes mini film for SDCC, kinda like the one JJ did for the charity a couple of weeks ago, where it's him and the cast and crew talking and you can see parts of the sets in the background. We probably won't get a proper trailer til summer of 2015.

Well, I'm thinking of a teaser that they don't really show much of anything like what Darthrazz said.
And the SDCC thing probably wouldn't show much either. Probably all the stars saying hello or something like that with just a glimpse of the set. Most likely it'll be the Tatooine set we've been seeing all this time.

I imagine a teaser, and it will be something simple.
Example: Luke meditating, distant sounds from the OT as the camera slowly moves in on him. Then Luke hears a voice "Good to see you again kid!" and Luke opens him eyes and looks off camera and smiles. Then a title card, and then ends with the Falcon taking off in a teaser specific FX shot.
JJ could film that in a few hours and hand it over to ILM for finishing.
SDCC hype engine, engage.
