i have to be honest, when I saw the Millennium falcon i cried. the trailer made me cry a little just now

I didn't cry but that was the coolest part of the teaser was seeing the Falcon again.... Only 1 year to go.....

A guy on twitter designed some better looking lightsabers.

The crossguards are meant to catch an enemy's sword and protect your hands — something this lightsaber would be unable to do unless it's made of some mythical ******** supermaterial that nobody's heard of because it's in a Star Wars book nobody's read. An enemy's energy blade would, in all likelihood, slice right through the base of the crossguard and end your lightsaber party pretty quickly.

A lightsaber crossguard is also really dangerous to the person holding it. Don't just take my word for it; The Washington Post weighed in on the issue after I called out the design on Twitter, and asked master bladesmith Kevin Cashen about it. "That would be very bad to have around your hand," Cashen tells the Post. "That hilt would just take you apart if you started to do a lot of complex spinning."

"You'd be in grave danger of searing yourself," Cashen says.

So after an argument about the lightsaber with The Verge's own Star Wars fanboy, Rich McCormick, I decided to take a break and get coffee next door. In the two minutes I stood in line, I came up with a better design.

I liked the trailer a lot. Im totally pumped for it. The only thing I didnt care for was the lightsaber at the end. More streams. But yeah, I dug it and want more! To be honest, I dont know what there is to "hate". Its a teaser, and it was just that. From I saw the CGI looked fine. I could understand if someone was indifferent or something though. I dunno....

I don't know why they're picking apart the lightsaber. Its the lighsaber I've always wanted. Whenever I'd lightsaber fight my brother, he'd always aim for my fingers. He reasoned you can't fight if you don't have fingers or if your lightsaber hilt has been slashed. Those side flame blades prevent that kind of attack from happening. There's a reason many swords have those kind of protectors on them. I always thought it was odd nobody did that with a lightsaber

That's my gripe with that lightsaber. Unless it's cortosis ore. But that would make that EU bit canon.

Well if the rumours are correct that's Adam Driver's character walking in the snowy forest, he collects and is obsessed by.. Sith artefacts. He is possibly Solo's kid and has force abilities.

It would make sense out of the look of the sword. An ancient Sith artefact? Like a medieval sword? I like it

yeah, in no way could a SW Trailer be misleading and make a film look more grownup.
