I'm still not convinced and LAUGH at the SW celebration video showing the audience's reaction to the new trailer.

Same overjoyed non critical rose colored lenses reaction as the SW fanboy reaction to the the Ep II & III previews. I wince when I think about that. ANYTHING shown is going to get a OMG X 100 reaction from the flock..sheeessh.

How many variations of trooper are they going with here?

Not to mention the guy without the chest armor:

Get over it. They're just having a good time.

It's called enthusiasm. God forbid.

No fun for you.

I think ep.7 will be a geared at the old school fans to get us all to stop hating on the series. It's entirely possible it will be filled with a ton of nostalgia and button pushing. I'm OK with that.

Rogue One looks like the chance to test out new storytelling tones and get away from the formula.

I agree- button pushing- yes the nostalgia will carry this film. Proof in the pudding will be next two installments

This time it was warranted, trailer definitely delivered the goods!

So did the prequel trailers, if you remember. But not everyone was happy with the actual films.

I think the Ep I previews were even more overhyped, and look how that turned out. Plus I think you'll find quite a few defenders of Ep III.

Well bad taste is everywhere......

People remain more overly cautious this time around and i'm one of them that is excited. And i've been following this very closely from the very announcement, and they seem to be doing everything right so far. (practical effects less reliance on CGI, even less overall lightsabers, more focus on characters, etc. etc.) Seems as though Disney would like for most to forget about the prequels without actually stating it and that's a good thing. (and Lucas is on the sideline)

I still remain cautious, but everything is looking positive so far...Very positive. When we saw the EP1 trailer yes it looked great, but little did we know those were the best parts of the movie pretty much and we all just wanted SW so bad the rose tinted glasses were in full effect. I can say with certainty the glasses are off, and we'll all be watching with baited breath.

(but i have a good feeling)

In other news.
Mark Hamill Talks J.J. Abrams, the New Voice-Over he Recorded for the Teaser Trailer and More
Mark Hamill knew he had to say yes when George Lucas told him about the plans to move forward with a new “Star Wars” trilogy.

“It’s not like a choice. It’s like I was drafted, could you imagine if for some reason I said ‘I don’t think I want to do it?’ I would have all of you surrounding my house like villagers, angry villagers with lightsabers instead of torches.”

When things started coming together, Hamill said he was cautiously optimistic about J.J. Abrams, the chosen director for “The Force Awakens.”

“I was a little suspicious because he was a ‘Star Trek’ guy,” said Hamill, laughing. The actor quickly clarified that he likes “Star Trek. It just seems odd.”

Hamill noted, that Abrams is also the first “Star Wars” director to be borne out of true fandom of the original films.

“He feels the way you feel in terms of wanting practical effects. Real sets,” he said.

Hamill

Keeping in line with the secrecy surrounding “The Force Awakens,” Hamill said he is always worried about leaking information. He claims he even learned the subtitle of the seventh film on the Internet.

“They’re so secretive these days,” said Hamill. “When we did the first one no one cared.”

Hamill was “cleared” to tell the packed house that he did record a voiceover specifically for the new teaser trailer. In the teaser, we hear Luke’s voice saying a familiar, but slightly altered line from “Return of the Jedi”: “The force is strong in my family. My father has it. I have it. My sister has it. You have that power too.”

He laughed and said that he kept messing up and saying: “My father had it.” The end result is a combination of the original recording and Hamill’s new session, the actor said.

I'm not a huge Star Wars fan, far more into super heroes, Marvel and DC stuff. But when I was a child I was very much into Star Wars.

This trailer totally made me do the ugly cry the first time I saw it. Totally made my childhood flash in front of my eyes. Seeing Han and Chewie again pretty much ripped my heart out.

In the words of Ian Malcolm...

"Your producers were so preoccupied with whether they could they didn't think if the should."

That's what this movie had going for it right now.
