Speaking of old-school, Abrams told the magazine he had one director’s note for Ford, who’s playing Han Solo for the first time since 1983′s Return of the Jedi. “I knew that he had done in some movies a kind of more growly thing, and I didn’t want Han to be growly,” Abrams told Vanity Fair. This may be one of the best things I have heard about the film. I was afraid we would get a grumpy, growling Han reminiscent of Ford's more recent roles.

Didn't use even ONE of already existing SW races for that shot and it's very worrying.
None of these look cool or interesting.

At least it shows they are not going to make the entire movie a nostalgia-fest. Maybe it is a hint that they will be making a real attempt to make this movie not just a rehash. Also, they remind me of the Jabba aliens, which were mostly unique to that scene. No Jabba background aliens ever stood out as much as the original cantina aliens but that would be hard to do.

Tough crowd in here regarding the looks of the aliens.
they look fine to me.
not going to see the same looking aliens all over the universe in different places.people complain that the universe is getting smaller what with character connections etc...just my opinion.lol

It shows that Jar Jar Abrams can't handle franchises he didn't create. First Star Trek, now Star Wars.

No Jabba background aliens ever stood out as much as the original cantina aliens but that would be hard to do.

Now that's definitely a nostalgia based opinion.

true..but wouldn't had hurt to mix in at leaf 1-2 familiar aliens in there ...

Yes. It's not just the missing Star Wars faces, it's the general uninspired cheap look that I hate. Looks like a generic TV show line up. Someone mentioned Farscape.

But anyway! Everything else looks tricking fantastic so far. And the VF article has certainly upped my excitement for the movie a lot. Especially the comments about Ford's performance.

Okay I'm done, all of you can go wipe your ***** with Disney **** coming out... I'm selling everything SW except my favs before the **** hits the fan... ****ing make new races and ****... WTF OH... NO MORE EU... BUT HEY enjoy the new whatthe****youcallits our design team from losers from face/off created for y'all to have a nerdgasm over a new SW movie that doesn't need to be! I really seriously don't ****ing get it... if the whole point of the SW SAGA was to show a boy to man to monster to show love of a son and good conquers evil in Episode 6. WTF we need a new one for... You all can have it... I'm done. Star Wars is dead... like over seasoned Simpsons episode and Disney is just going to **** it up worse... MARK MY WORDS...
