I read the supposed leaked script, and tbh, I like it. I think it has potential but the thing that worries me is J.J. It will all hinge on the way he presents it. I didn't care for either of his Star Treks but I do think he's more well suited to the action of Star Wars.

Probably the closest I've ever seen something come to its predecessor after 35 years.

I agree, it was certainly better than Kingdom of the Crystal Chimps and that was only 19 years.

Robocop, nope. (I wonder if the porno Robo **** is any better).

Probably the closest I've ever seen something come to its predecessor after 35 years.

IMO, it surpassed the previous films.

Compare that to Die Hard, Indy, Rocky 6, etc etc.

I actually hope your right!! I don't want episode VII to sink, I want it to be great! But so far to me and in my opinion it looks horrendous! The plot is just silly.... The whole story around a lightsaber is nearly laughable. And for those who don't realize what Disney is doing, I'm sad for. I'm sure JJ only has as much control as they want him and us to think he has. Disney is a money machine, pure and simple. Look at all the official "Canon" bull crap. Dark Horse comics and all the expanded universe novels kept Star Wars stories alive and well when there was nothing else. And some of them were better than anything Lucas came up with! Then Disney just cans it all in a loud baby like shout "Na Na Na Na Na, You can't have it, it's all mine!!" The fact they they are saying EVERYTHING they do from here on out is canon is also ludicrous! If the movie does do well there will be so many games, comics, books... Good luck when they back themselves into a corner and then announce, nah that stuff don't count!! By the way I am also a big Disney fan, my wife has lots of crap and I even had my Honeymoon in Disney, so I am not a Disney hater per se, I just do not think they really care for Star Wars history and fans. They want to re-write it their way and make it fit into their world while making us think they care. At least they have'nt shaken up their Marvel property yet.... Yet..

Well it certainly succeeds at being a very successful (critically) modern sequel to a classic film franchise, which is pretty damn rare, even if we can quibble about whether or not it exceeds the originals (I'm not sure it can dethrone Road Warrior for me).
