Look, I have daughters and on most issues I'm quite left-leaning - so I have no interest whatsoever in being Pepe the frog here. I'm just interested in keeping things truthful. Not saying that what underpins what you're saying is wholly false, but my gut instinct says some of it is. Its that difference between us that is the argument, even though I agree with some of what you're saying.

I saw this one coming from a distance of 157 miles. I've been watching it approaching with a telescope, then binoculars, then with the naked eye.

Reminds me how dumb it was for the Resistance not to close the shield door on Crait until Leia saw the First Order coming with her naked eye. The FO damn nearly got through straight away because of that (and some personnel were almost killed).

Great post Python. All rings true for me. The list of films I genuinely hate is small, X-men the last stand, Alien 3 and The Last Jedi. And TLJ is the worst offender on my list for the exact reasons you described - I think we might also be similar in age judging by your comments regarding watching the OT on VHS and enjoying the PT.

Thank you. I think I was 13 when TPM released. I loved it at the time for different reasons obviously so I was probably heading towards the right age bracket to appreciate that movie more in 1999 more so than the slightly older people watching it whom had been that age when the OT launched for example. Even though I had very much grown up with the OT, the 13 year old in me didn't care so much about my own expectations and could appreciate the cooler aspects such as the Pod race and the Naboo fighters and the spectacular new melee style at the time etc etc. But I look back at it now as a maturer viewer and I still see a lot to like personally. I think they were judged too harshly despite their obvious flaws.... And Jar Jar. I'll defend Alien 3 to the end of the Earth however, but that's a discussion for another place, and we're allowed to disagree anyway despite what some people seem to think so I'll allow you that opinion and disagree with it quietly ....

Okay I'm just going to say it. CLOSE THE ******* THREAD AND BAN ANYONE WHO STARTS ANOTHER ONE...

This **** is getting ridiculous... before long we'll be having William Wallace face-painting war at Star Wars Celebration...

Despite a weird tangent about Holdo's grooming habits, what is the issue? There's lots to complain about regarding that character to be fair, her hair colour probably isn't one of them. It's good that we're being allowed this discussion. Those who take it too far seem to have been asked to leave rather than stopping the rest of us talking about what we wish. Surely that's preferable?
