poll manipulation has been going on under disney for a long time, it went on with the first avengers and with pirates of the Caribbean.

with Pirates of the Caribbean, IMDB.com had to erase hundreds of 10 out of 10 votes because teenage girls were making dozens of accounts to vote that way and they were going to the forums and they would Mass report people giving the movies bad reviews. IMDB only found out because normal posts were getting hundreds of reports the same days.

Avengers had the same thing going on. Disney fans are insane

Yes, for whatever reason it's very important to the most vocal group of bashers to state their opinions as facts and to dismiss facts (critical reviews, box office, etc.) as opinions, lol. Calling them out on such silliness isn't going to make them own up to what they're doing so I find it best to simply not address them directly at all anymore.

Obviously that's not to say that criticisms against TLJ (or even open dislike/hate) aren't true or valid for any given person but the lengths that some bashers will go to distort reality in an attempt to prove that their singular opinions are objective and "correct" is pretty mind boggling.

So jye, are you ready to come over and watch The Last Jedi again? i got caramel pop corn this time

:lol

In all seriousness :duff on your new TLJ rating. It really is a movie that seems a lot worse in retrospect than when you're actually watching it.

Oh absolutely. I was initially distracted by all the wtf moments. (green milk, anyone?) And I also felt that Luke was not portrayed to justice. But man, this time I loved all the scenes with Luke. Now I’m more excited for IX.

Yeah, I have to echo the Star-Crunch kudos. I'll let you guys get back to the funny stuff in a minute, but I just have to acknowledge something that I wasn't sure I'd get to witness here. Someone actually put the blinders of preconception away and gave this film another chance? Objectively!?? Wow!

Finally saw it a second time. It was certainly more enjoyable this time. There are still things I don’t care for, but I don’t hate it like I thought I did. The ending with Luke was fantastic. I’d say a solid 7/10. Now proceed with the banter :wink1:

Star-Crunch, you win my Person of the Day award. I don't care that you didn't love it. I wouldn't have even cared if you hated it again. Open-mindedness these days is becoming rarer and rarer, and more valuable, so I respect your post a great deal.

Someone find me some effin' Ewoks and some music; I need to celebrate!

Now you clowns go on and get back to the jokes. Sorry for the added intermission, but I had to.

It doesn't exactly shoot down the notion that TLJ haters try to flood the internet with multiple versions of themselves in attempts to perpetuate a false narrative now does it, lol.

Isn't it a little disingenuous to suggest this is a one sided tactic? There's plenty of sad people out there with varying opinions. Plus, didn't Disney get caught out making loads of fake positive reviews for TLJ?

At least this thread has been a laugh all day...

Aw man too many funny posts to quote - at last a Star Wars thread with almost a whole day without any bickering and a lot of fun. It is refreshing ... Yes most refreshing.

I think we should alltake a moment to remember Spazz. His epic FrankenFail got the ball rolling

Dude. TLJ wins Saturn award for best writing. Beats Logan, Wonder Woman, Blade Runner 2049, and others.
