That moment is the turn around where a newly free Trooper realizes he may need help.
Nope, doesn't work.
He already had to free an important prisoner from FO because he couldn't pilot the fighter.
Plus he had a woman orderin' him around in FO so the whole "new experience" thing makes no sense.

Technically... Technically... he was kinda sexually harassing her in that entire scene. by not letting go specially. being forceful. that was pretty bad

I think the Rey and Finn dilemma is all repressed anger for the man! Its showing African Americans that "Miss White" got it all taken care of, she don't need no help from him. They took a cool character who should have trained to be a Jedi and made his sideshow comedy relief then paired him up with Rose Hardy for the Laurel and Hardy show. Damn you KK

Anyone who denies the grossly political messaging in that scene is being intellectually dishonest.

Don't even go there. It's the overtly political message that's the problem. Like I said, he shouldn't have grabbed her hand in the first place.

I would add that after Finn takes her hand held out to him he asks her "are you ok?" Rey replies "yea" but with with a tone and a look on her face like "of course I'm ok. I'm an empowered woman!"

Not sure if serious.

He initially grabs her hand to get her to run because he's spotted the Stormtroopers coming for them.

After that it's played for both laughs and to reiterate that she's an independent woman. Plus he's pretty preocupied dodging laser blasts to think about letting go.

He just saw her beat up 3 guys at the same but yet he still thinks he needs to hold her hand to lead her to safety. It was a set up for the big revelation that Rey "wears the pants".

LOl.....

I respect your place man....

Just not a dilemma in mine....it was funny and as I explained .....it’s more about Finn and the fact that he is totally lost in this world , and still trying to be a hero.

I am not worried about an agenda in these films, or in my life, so it’s a non issue. And as a result I don’t see any political agenda.

Was Leia ordering Han around in ANH not MUCH more overt? Or was that ok because in the end he won her over?

I think you are the only one who cares about that scene. I never even thought about it that way at all and I don't see it that way now.

He just saw her beat 3 guts at the same but yet he still thinks he needs to hold her hand to lead her to safety. It was a set up for the big revelation that Rey "wears the pants".

Hardly a revelation after she's just beaten up three guys.

Finn sees the troopers and he knows they're after him. He's making Rey aware of the danger.

Prior to that she's all impressed by Finn when she says she's never met a Resistance fighter before. The moments in these scenes are establishing the dynamic between their characters.

In this scene the movie is conspicuously telling viewers that Rey "wears the pants". Puts Finn in his place.

Rey: "I know how to run without you holding my hand!"

He then grabs her hand. I picked up on this when I first watched it on blue ray and then it just became too much when added to the Mary Sue aspect. I was ok with the Force Awakens before I noticed this.

WOW

*runs to check calendar to make sure it’s 2018 and not 100AD

Oh I mean I agree all beta males should immediately be executed!

Long live Sharia law, long live Wahhabism way of life.

You haven't seen the movie then. That is exactly what happens. It's as gross and tacky as I told it.

I agree woman are so icky.

Like when Lucy kisses Snoopy lol

I'm not going to let up on this. I want someone to try to defend it. How do you rationalize something this distasteful and inappropriate?

I agree TFA was just like a ****o movie.

Kyle Reese and Sarah Connor (twice.)

Sarah Connor now dats a man.

He just saw her beat up 3 guys at the same but yet he still thinks he needs to hold her hand to lead her to safety. It was a set up for the big revelation that Rey "wears the pants".

Wait deja vu moment here.
