Let’s go at this from another angle, let’s say for a minute Vault Boy is totally correct.

What is the end game? What is Disney trying to do with these messages? What do they want the achieve?

A person can only run as fast as their own legs will carry them, holding their hand won't speed them up and in fact will likely cause them to trip and skull themselves.

Kyle Reese and Sarah Connor (twice.)

Come on man. I'm just talking about how tacky it was. The way it was done is the problem. Not the politics itself.

Thank you for bringing this up. I loved TFA, but no longer! I need a therapist now, this has caused me a major trauma.

Who runs holding hands?

Yeah, seems counterproductive. A person can only run as fast as their own legs will carry them, holding their hand won't speed them up and in fact will likely cause them to trip and skull themselves.

It's like everything I was brought up to believe was all made of bull***t

One of the main reasons I'm glad that Holdo's role wasn't given to an established character like Ackbar or Mothma is because of "small galaxy syndrome." I think it's lame when every event has to be somehow connected to OT characters. Like Jabba at the pod race, Anakin building 3PO, Boba Fett being linked to ALL the clonetroopers, Chewie being second in command at the Battle of Kashyyyk, etc.

It's nice to see new major players in a conflict that spans an entire galaxy over many decades.

Bingo. That why I want Rey to be a nobody.

Disney needs to grow the SW brand. They already have most of the worlds male demographic. Who they seem to think will watch no matter what. So now that they have that market saturated and can no longer truly "grow" in the boy/male segment, they need to target girls/females. Like I've said before, nearly every commercial for SW seems to focus on a female, not a male. It's the little girl, or the mom (Nissan Rogue) who are the focus while the husband and brother are the supporting role.

I don't have a problem with any of this. I have a wife and daughter who I wish enjoyed/cared about SW as much as myself and my son. But for me it's clear as day. Not sure how other's can't seem to see this. So Disney definitely has an agenda, which is even worse with Kennedy at the helm. If it's done subtly in the movies with good characters and good storytelling, very few would be complaining. But it's right there in your face clear as day. And for those who don't see it, that's an even a bigger win for Disney. They want people to casually accept it. They don't want people calling them out on it. It's like subliminal messaging directly into our subconsciousness. They want the masses to be "unaware" of the message they are peddling. And this isn't just Disney. Many companies are doing this today.

Rey can be special without any connections to the Skywalker bloodline or any of the PT jedi members.

Some might find this shocking, but I'm not a big Rey fan :lol However, they could make her ancestors force users from the old republic days, thus opening the door for a movie that focuses on that era while keeping a loose connection to a main trilogy character (rey).

I can see the female slant to these films, you would have to be blind not to...

My issues come from the agenda thing. Unless by agenda people mean making money.

Every other use of the word agenda is to me, nonsense.

So Disney wanted to make a female oriented Star Wars universe for a spell? Fine with me.

I always think of a good friend of mine in these little discussions. He has always played his MMO’s as female characters ....I asked him once , “why do you always play as women”?

He answered “if I have to watch a character run around the screen for hours at a time, I would rather look at a woman’s ***, then a guys”

Modern feminist right there ......
