Maybe. But the overall story will still be Dark vs Light; good vs evil. If anyone thinks differently they are just being Goofy. ;)

well of course, but I think the film will address more of good and evil being a POV, rather than what we've seen the last 7 films.

Hence the whole line at the end of the Trailer, "the Jedi must end."

If the good guy is saying the good guys must end, then there's a gray area in there. :lol

Honestly, whenever I hear about the Grey Jedi, this pops into my mind:

The GJs are just an excuse for Edgy Teenagers to play pretend as their Sci-Fi Punisher, but without understanding the point of a "grey" character like the Punisher.

Good guy just loses his way a bit. He'll find it.... maybe.....

or maybe not. :lol

I think that goes without saying and doesn't need the term "gray" -- its already called "balance".

Any dark edges on an otherwise light character does not necessarily make him 'gray' -- it makes him light with dark edges.

I'm fairly certain, with Disney's obsession to corner the Asian market, that the light/dark aspect you call 'gray' will have much more to do with yin/yang than it will 'gray'.

Exactly, like I said, I don't know and wouldn't be surprised if "Gray Jedi" wasn't even mentioned in TLJ, but the whole "balance" and light v dark aspect has been played out so much in this universe that it's time for something new.

My prediction is that the film passes the whole "light and dark" of the force and explains that there is no light and dark, just the force.

This entire time we've seen Jedi and Sith "manipulate" the force into their actions, when in reality it's the force manipulating them. "it's so much bigger than that" "the jedi must end" etc.

Even episode 7's title hinted at this. "The Force Awakens".

Something disheartening that Kathleen Kennedy said was that if all goes according to plan "none of us will live to see the last Star Wars film." To me that's just a commitment to milking that absolutely cannot be good for the franchise. I never like it when there's no end game in sight. That tells me that they are going to manufacture open ended complications for no other reason than giving them an excuse to make umpteen new films and not to improve the story itself.

I have to say though, I liked TFA at the time, and I love RO... so Kathleen has a pretty good batting average. I'll stick with her.

But I will turn on her when the time comes. Such is the Force.

Agreed, once again we are judging a story based on 1/3 of it told.

Some people want their world black and white (and their fiction) . I meet them all the time....every Arab is a terrorist, every gay a pedophile , every black person a criminal.... No one admits it , but that do believe it.

I think there are alot of "grey types" also in life. People who are basically good and do bad things. Again from their point of view , justified.

This is all good storytelling, black and white is simple and straight forward, the grey side of life is much harder a story to tell but in the end more rewarding to me.

Also, you could make a great story about someone who does morally questionable things but ends up a hero?

I wonder how many SW purists think Vader was redeemed.......

My two cents, Vader remained a villain to the end, his las act was still a selfish one, he saved Luke because he was his son, if Luke had just been some random for user, with great power....I believe Vader would have killed him in a heartbeat......or just watch Palps fry him.

What is this grey stuff I keep hearing about. Are they replacing jedi with grey?

What? That is *not* living in a "black and white" world. That's living in a world of idiocy. It *is* possible to believe in black and white truths and ideals and not be a certifiable idiot.

One man's black and white perspective is another man's delusional fantasy, or bigotry in the case outlined here. Personally, I think there are pretty black and white rules surrounding our universe from a scientific point of view (how energy and gravity behave, how biology thrives through evolutionary processes, etc.), but when you get into human behavior and thought, it's all murky.

One man's black and white perspective is another man's delusional fantasy,

Unless the first man's black and white perspective is correct. Then the second guy is simply out of touch with reality or is choosing to ignore that which is staring him in the face. The fact that there are bigots in the world does not inherently disprove the existence of black and white truths.

Human truth is unattainable.....
One mans , black and white, is another man's grey and purple. Just look at all the rule books people live by, they conflict all the time, and those who follow those rules will easily tell you that their book is the truth, spelled out in black and white.

Even science can not be totally black and white , outside of human truth. I find it more "truthy" than religons, but there is alot we guess at.

I am obviously a fan of Disney studios and think they have churned out more films that will stand the test of time than most other studios..

I am happy with all the new SW content so far. Some is better than others , and clearly not yet up to OT. But it getting closer. I am happy its far and away better than PT ...IMO

Sounds like you're agreeing with me on the science front Khev! :hi5:

But of course, we don't feel comfortable with that "truths" language, since all hypotheses are falsifiable, and prone to modification.

Nuclear War is imminent!!!! :panic::panic::panic:
