All this gray stuff is just going to drive Wor-Gar crazy.

This gray stuff

You know it's a bad sign when Hayden Christensen is potentially not the worst thing that could happen in a new SW film.

Maybe they're just going to have Old Luke be somewhat insane and ranting about Gray powers and other things until Rey restores his hope and shows him the true path back to the light. I'm sure that'd make a lot of people happy.

With the theatrical cut you can assume that ghosts either appear as perfectly healed versions of the Jedi at the age they died or that they appear in the form most recognizable to whom they are appearing to.

That's the way it was originally conceived, until George went back on his promise.

I hope he goes back on his promise with the new PT generation, so they can see what it feels like and have a better understanding of our general cynicism.

I imagine if I saw a ghost of my father I would expect to see him as a healed version of his older self and not at the age of when he knocked up my mother.

This is definitely going to happen. Maybe not the gray thing, but Rey and her powers are going to be the catalyst that gets Luke out of his funk. It's going to play out like this I bet, Luke is a brooding hermit that feels he failed everyone. He mopes around and has quit at life. The Jedi are no more, I'm not Luke Skywalker anymore. Then Miss. Gurl Power Smartypants sees what a depressing POS Luke has become and isn't impressed. This stinky old, ****ing CIS white male is nothing like she imagined from the legends about him. He's like, totally gross and a loser! EW! He refuses to train her or help the cause because he's an old, whiny *****, but through Rey's powers and determination, she teaches Luke a thing or two about the Force and Hope, and to never give up in the face of danger. Luke stops being a coward thanks to Rey and gets back into the game. That will be his arc.

Then he probably dies. Probably sacrifices himself or some ****. Then Rey Rey becomes THE Jedi and the last of the Jedi. For you see, unlike the PT and OT, all these ST titles refer to the Rey and only Rey. She was the awakening in the Force Awakens, and now she'll be the last Jedi. Luke will probably impart some last minute dying wisdom, and she'll be alone at the end of thus ine, making her struggle and eventual victory in Episode 9 all the more real.

I don't want to see force ghost Hayden...They would have to use a lot of makeup on him to make him look like Anakin again as we saw at Celebration Orlando, he looks different now, his voice is even different. :slap

Aren't force ghosts supposed to look the same when they died as Jedi :lecture

If they use Hayden as a force ghost, they should really make him transparent

It would be an interesting shock if Rey and luke become lovers.
Maybe thats what they meant by gray...

If incest is gray... well, then Luke has always been about the gray. Memba sister kiss?

Oh wait, she's now Rey Kenobi. I forgot about that toy that was planted.

Yes, based on everything we've seen thus far I'll actually be shocked if the above doesn't happen. What sucks is that it could actually be really cool if her plight pulls him out of retirement and he becomes the Jedi version of William Munny but we know they'll never let Luke retake the spotlight from their new girl wonder.

Imagine if she lost the battle with Kylo or that it was at the very most a draw and she was the one with the slashed up face. Luke sees her and is all, "this will not stand" and heads out to open a can of galactic whoop-ass on everyone. The ending of TFA would have been much more powerful if she was standing there with a mangled face offering him his saber. You could see the despair on face turn to grim determination before cutting to end credits.

Maybe gray means age doesnt matter for jedi. Maybe you cpuld be 90 dating a 17 year old girl jedi but because of the force then that is ok or something

Between the Anakin ideas thrown around for TFA, Christensen being at Celebration to much fan fare, RO including prequel elements, the Hot Toys QnA with Howard Chan's where he confirmed that the EPIII Anakin is coming (something that's been in development since DX 07 Bespin Luke), I think his inclusion on film is inevitable.

It feels like Disney is just taking things slow. They don't just own the ST and anthology movies, they own everything. They paid for the whole shebang and it's all theirs. They're not going to let past movies fall by the wayside if they can be exploited, not if there is profit to be made. There are only so many memba berries they can exploit from the OT before they want to milk that PT titty too. They've just been taking baby steps, slowly reeling in all of their audience demographics. They're thinking about Sagas, about legacies, They're thinking about expansive movies that can go on and on for decades. They're not like us, picking and choosing certain things and abandoning things. They're thinking episodes 1-13 and a butt load of anthology movies that take place between them.

Probably a mandate to hold back on something like Anakin till the time is right so they can milk Vader and Anakin for the next couple of years since their boy Ben isn't as popular. They'll be like "yo Howard, stop with the Iron Mans for a second, time to release that Anakin we had you shelve". Then we'll get 3 more variations of Vader, 3 variations of Anakin (including Force Ghost) just in time for his resurgence and you'll like it and buy it all mother ****er!
