For TLJ they had to use cgi to remove his gut very prominent when he squats or sits down lol.

must have a good food supply on that island.

He prolly had a secret stash on that island ala Jack Sparrow.

"So that's it, then? That's the secret, grand adventure of the infamous Luke Skywalker. You spent 30 years lying on a beach drinking rum."

Gave my kids the choice of picking any of the 8 SW films to watch for May the 4th and unsurprisingly they chose TFA. Even for the umpteenth time and seeing it in a new more disposable light after RO it's still just so damn fun and watchable. I find it easy to just take it on it's own terms and not worry too much about what came before it. Mary Sue Rey? Eh, us guys have Russo Cap so I don't see any problem with girls having their own hero in that vein. She's likable and that's the most important thing.

I don't mind how any of the legacy characters were handled, even Luke. They all had an entire trilogy to shine in their primes so I don't mind the new kids getting the spotlight going forward. I do hope that Kylo absolutely kicks all kinds of ass in TLJ though. That will greatly cover any misgivings about his character.

After the movie we immediately watched the TLJ trailer and now I'm all kinds of pumped to continue onward with this new trilogy, so hopefully it delivers.

I let the kids stay up a little late on a school night to finish the movie and after they went to bed I was very curious to see how RO played after a TFA buzz. I was exhausted and didn't know how much of it I'd get through but even just the first five minutes of the movie felt like a whole new class of film that is just on a higher level of quality. Not even the immediate buzz of another SW film can diminish it. I hung on until they fled Jedha before crashing on the couch. I woke up to Jyn saying "May the Force be with us" as their shuttle was lifting off and instantly got a second wind and finished the movie. :yess:

It's just so great.

:lol

It just is never gonna happen. But he's already said that GOTG is his "Star Wars" so maybe GOTG2 will deliver for him and he can be praising that one until we all get sick of hearing it.

:lol

Last night when we watched TFA and Rey held the saber out to Luke my 7 year old said "Wouldn't it be funny if when Luke grabbed the lightsaber Rey didn't let go and instead turned it on like Kylo Ren?" Just imagining Chewie screaming yet again as R2 "feints" and falls over on the ground, lol.

Geez, even little kids want Rey to be bad. Ask her if she likes the idea of a "gray jedi"...?

"Him" actually. My son is 7, daughter 10. And I'll say this about the prequel trilogy, if nothing else it has thrown away all "script immunity" for SW heroes. Now my kids half expect every hero to turn to the Dark Side. They were both convinced that Jyn would become an evil TIE Fighter pilot after that first RO teaser and they both think Luke will be evil in TLJ. My daughter is convinced that Rey will stay good but my son thinks that Luke will turn her too. So there you go, lol.

But I did conduct your experiment. I literally just got up, went downstairs and said, "Hey guys, serious question. There's a Dark Side of the Force and Light Side. What would you think if in the new movie they learned that there's a Gray Side...?" My daughter literally burst out laughing, lol. I said, "Well?" And she clearly didn't think I was being serious. So I pressed the issue and said "and what if then they start having Gray Jedi?" To which she burst out laughing AGAIN, held up her hand and said "Dad. Stop. You're so weird." These are literally exact quotes I kid you not. :rotfl
