You guys do know that being born in the 80's makes you a millennial right? :lol

What ever gave you the impression that I was born in the 80's?

Probably those selfies of you flexing :monkey3

You really think people care what strangers on the internet think about their opinions on movies? I don't think anyone that posts here that disliked TFA did it cause they wanted to be "cool." That's ridiculous.

It was a lousy, soulless, insulting, bad movie. It was a bad, bad movie.

If this next one is amazing, I'll be the first one on here singing its praises. I doubt it will be good though. Big budget Hollywood movies haven't been good in over a decade. The bottom line is and always has been MONEY. And the way to get the most money is to pander to as many segments of the audience (domestic and foreign) as possible, while simultaneously dumbing everything down so that dumb dumbs (domestic and foreign) don't have to think too hard to enjoy their explosions and gun fights and laserswords.

If it seems like everyone hates "everything" maybe that's cause movies aren't good anymore. It's not just the rose-colored glasses of nostalgia and youth either; movies really aren't that good.

The Marvel stuff is very well made and entertaining, but it's formulaic and predictable.

Ah hell, whatever. Call me a hater and a troll if that makes you feel better. If all you want out of a movie is "to turn my brain off and look at the pretty colors for two hours" then I'm sure you'll love everything Disney has in store for you.

You do know your opinion is not the "correct" one, right? Just making sure.

Millennial born in 1980? I figure them to be Gen X still......millennial seems to me closer to 1990 or later.....at least by attitude.

Most of the folks I know born in the early to mid 80's wouldn't fit the millennial "stereotype"

They are closer to my generation .....which is to say fatalist and cynical....

The term Millennial sort of took a whole new meaning when kids born in the late 90's or early 2000's became the dominant stereotype and synonymous with the term, because they were actually born close to the new millennium, but yes, people like me born in the early 80's are....Millennials. There's almost a 20 year gap between the "old" and the youngest Millennials, which I guess the same thing happens with every generation.

I think most people assume Millennials means being born in the 90's. I was watching ESPN a few weeks ago and they were talking about who's better between Lebron and Jordan, as they usually do on those silly shows, and they mentioned how Millennials never saw Jordan play, and all they know is Kobe and Lebron :lol Technically, it's partially true, for those born in the 90's, but not for those born in the early 80's. Anyway, I'm gonna go play with my Enterbay Jordan doll...like a true adult :lol

People confuse the term "Millennial" to be grouped up with other terms like Gen X, Baby Boomer etc. And than you have people who think it's an insult, when in reality it's neither. it's directly means that you were born within 20 years of new Millennium.

I get a good chuckle (especially on this board) when folks use it as a negative speech tool.

"this new spider-man is for those stupid millennials!"

in other words:

"this new spider-man is for people born 20 years before or after the year 2000!"

:lol by that thinking so was... ESB, ROTJ, Indiana Jones, Raimi spidermenz, and yes, fabi's fav of all time.... batman 89, was made for millennials. difab likes millennial superheroes. :monkey3

Generation X, or Gen X, is the demographic cohort following the baby boomers. There are no precise dates for when this cohort starts or ends; demographers and researchers typically use starting birth years ranging from the early-to-mid 1960s and ending birth years ranging from the late 1970s to early 1980s. Generation X is a relatively smaller demographic cohort sandwiched between two larger demographic cohorts, the baby boomers and the millennials.

Millennials (also known as Generation Y) are the demographic cohort following Generation X (mostly in western countries). There are no precise dates for when this cohort starts or ends; demographers and researchers typically use the early 1980s as starting birth years and the mid-1990s to early 2000s as ending birth years. Millennials, who are generally the children of baby boomers and older Gen Xers, are sometimes referred to as "Echo Boomers" due to a major surge in birth rates in the 1980s and 1990s. The 20th-century trend toward smaller families in developed countries continued, however, so the relative impact of the "baby boom echo" was generally less pronounced than the original post–World War II boom.

Generation Z (also known as iGeneration, Post-Millennials, Plurals, or the Homeland Generation in the United States) is the demographic cohort after the Millennials. There are no precise dates for when the Gen Z cohort starts or ends; demographers and researchers typically use starting birth years that range from the mid-1990s to early 2000s, and as of yet there is little consensus about ending birth years.

This is easier than reading crows...

What are the primary generations today?

Currently, five generations make up our society. Each of those five generations has an active role in the marketplace. Depending on the specific workplace, the workforce includes four to five generations. Here are the birth years for each generation:

•Gen Z, iGen, or Centennials: Born 1996 and later
•Millennials or Gen Y: Born 1977 to 1995
•Generation X: Born 1965 to 1976
•Baby Boomers: Born 1946 to 1964
•Traditionalists or Silent Generation: Born 1945 and before

Interesting, 1977, the year the first Millennials were born.

Or Generation 'Whine'.

Luke Skywalker's whining makes sense now. He was the one. The first real Millennial.

It all makes sense now. :lol

It's actually a good way to remember it.

I'd say that's the iGen, i work at a headshop as a side gig a few days a week. always throws me off that people born in 1999 can now legally buy bongs. :lol

That is weird. Time moves too fast.
