No a brand new threat from outside the galaxy. Then the Empire could remain a compartmentalized foe whose victory would never be negated or undone and any new movies could just focus on whatever new thing.

It is really irrelevant if the movie is good or bad......its really cool to hate on whats popular these days.....makes the poster feel superior to all the regular people who cannot see how bad a movie is. ( in the trolls eyes)

Even if the next film was a great effort, they will still troll is because ;

1. They never admit when they are wrong.
2. Being the hater and cynic is cool.

So , haters gonna hate.......too bad for them they just cannot enjoy the fun of these new films. Nothing will ever come close to those dear memories they hold so close of younger more innocent times, when films were life changing experiences.....sucks to grow up for them.

What sucks worse is hating on everything ......repetitively......every day......

Glad I can still go to a simple movie and have fun being transported to a long time ago in a galaxy far far away!

:lol

I'm seeing this tomorrow. In 3D.

Anyone else notice that 'haters gonna hate' is a really dumb saying? An inexplicable write-off from ego-centric millennial participation-trophy bearers.

You really think people care what strangers on the internet think about their opinions on movies? I don't think anyone that posts here that disliked TFA did it cause they wanted to be "cool." That's ridiculous.

It was a lousy, soulless, insulting, bad movie. It was a bad, bad movie.

If this next one is amazing, I'll be the first one on here singing its praises. I doubt it will be good though. Big budget Hollywood movies haven't been good in over a decade. The bottom line is and always has been MONEY. And the way to get the most money is to pander to as many segments of the audience (domestic and foreign) as possible, while simultaneously dumbing everything down so that dumb dumbs (domestic and foreign) don't have to think too hard to enjoy their explosions and gun fights and laserswords.

If it seems like everyone hates "everything" maybe that's cause movies aren't good anymore. It's not just the rose-colored glasses of nostalgia and youth either; movies really aren't that good.

The Marvel stuff is very well made and entertaining, but it's formulaic and predictable.

Ah hell, whatever. Call me a hater and a troll if that makes you feel better. If all you want out of a movie is "to turn my brain off and look at the pretty colors for two hours" then I'm sure you'll love everything Disney has in store for you.

See, what I take away from xipotec's posts are that "haters" and cynics are cool and he wishes that he was like us. Those kind of compliments don't come around too often, they just don't come around too often. Frankly, I'm honored that xipotec thinks I'm a cool guy.

Mark Hamill has opened up on why Adam Driver wouldn't hang out with him while making Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

Speaking with Vanity Fair, Hamill joked that Driver is “very moody and intense".

“I remember saying to Adam, ‘I don’t know how you work, or your technique. But, at some point, you were my nephew. I probably bounced you on my knee. I probably babysat for you.

There’s that side, and now we’re both estranged from the Skywalker family. All I’m suggesting is, if you’d like, maybe we could go to lunch, we could get together and hang out.’”

Driver turned him down, Hamill said. “And more power to him".

Another of Driver's co-stars, John Boyega, is a little more forceful when it comes to rallying Driver round. “I give Adam hugs randomly, just for no reason,” he said. When Vanity Fair asks if he takes it, Boyega responded with "he just stands there. He just waits for me to be done."

For Driver's part, the actor said his seriousness is part of his internal process. “There’s big personal things that I find about every character, not just in Star Wars, that you have to make as personal as possible. It’s the big joke about being an actor, that you make everything you’re doing seem like it’s life or death. The things about that character that I find painful, that I really relate to, I kind of prefer to keep to myself,” he said.
