Seriously the reason I don't get too mad at them is because of Hot Toys. How many cons and Alien days have they gotten out of that one damn Ripley figure at this point? How long ago was that coming soon poster that she appeared on? How many other figures that weren't on that poster have they released before Ripley by now? And how many Ripleys and other characters have NECA released in this same span of time?

NECA put Hot Toys to shame with these licenses.

The question is what might he have on me if he reads this forum. It seems possible he would, Sideshow Freaks is well known. If he sees some guy who never has anything positive to say I fear that would actually harm the chances of said guy getting what he wants. John Connor is a figure that Randy seems to think isn't going to sell well - he would probably consider it a favour to us were he to make him (as with the Prometheus 'Lost' wave). So presenting myself as someone he might want to do such a favour for is the idea.

That said I don't go too far the other way either. The total suck-ups he has on twitter.

It wasn't on his belt when he gave his sad old man look to Rey.

Sure, he could have it. After all, you see it bobbing on his belt when he comes back to Endor in Jedi, meaning he took the time to retrieve it from wherever he tossed it in the Emperor's throne room before hauling his dying dad out of the exploding space station.

Did Yoda have a lightsaber in ESB? When they made the movie, obviously not. But retconning would probably make people insist it was there under his robes or in hidden in his hut.

I guess there's no reason to think the green saber hasn't survived all these years. After all, Anakin's Ep III saber is Rey's now.

I personally always liked the idea of a Jedi/Sith master transcending the need to even carry handheld weapons, but the fight between Yoda and Palpatine ruined that notion.

Anyway, since these movies are all about throwing in a few gestures of fan wank service alongside the main agenda of Disney crap, I'd expect to see it. Probably in the trailer too, like you said, just so 40 somethings on the internet can tape themselves squealing and crying and post it on youtube.
