I don't agree with that, sure Guinness was not like Ewan but I think Alec was not slow or pudgy during the saber duel. He moved quite gracefully especially with the saber to Prowse, in fact if you see the BTS footage of Guinness and Prowse practicing with David in and out of the Vader suit. Alec looked pretty fit for his age and I think Lucas knew it at the time so we got to give old Ben a lot more credit. :lecture

Now Mark has really let himself go over the years. I guess when his entire career became about voice acting jobs as opposed to physical roles he probably didn't think staying in shape was necessary like Ford. He let the weight get to him, but he did say he lost weight to tackle the return of Luke, so I guess he was in worse shape a few years ago.

I'm not expecting Mark to do anything agile in this film but if he did I'm sure it would be mostly stunt doubles or CGI :slap

I'd be happy if Luke's powers were purely force-driven. Like the Emperor in RotJ. No lightsabers. That'd be okay.

Luke would probably be okay with that.

Why don't people want to see Luke with a lightsaber. He's a Jedi, and the lightsaber is the weapon of a Jedi:dunno

He's frickin' LUKE SKYWALKER. He should navigate any challenges/challengers in this order:

1. His reputation. Just by revealing himself, people in his way should ship their pants. He's the biggest living legend in the galaxy. He blew up the Death Star. Defeated Darth Vader. Is the SON of Darth Vader.

2. Force powers. They should be subtle and effective with no defense against them. There should be a couple EPIC displays of his force powers. I mean he could concentrate for a few beats, the bass speakers rumble in the theatre, and a Star Destroyer veers off course and collides with another.

3. A quick, clever display of his saber skills.

4. A payoff near the end where all of the above come into play.

Rey witnesses all this and realizes there are no boundries when using the force. She now has a goal to strive towards and maybe even surpass.

If Luke isn't in the action, then no saber like OT Yoda would be fitting, but every Jedi in the midst of action wields a saber at some point.

Slow down there! That'll take Rey a week, or a weekend of cramming, at least.

Wait! Aren't you the guy who said...

It's not my job to figure out what he should do in the movie.

So what will happen with TLJ? You thinks it will change the franchise?
