Why do people like Plagueis so much? Because he can cheat death? I always took that story as a reveal about Palpatine's own backstabbing nature. The 'cheat death' bit seemed a seductive lie to get Anakin to turn to the dark side, nothing more.

The only line of dialogue that supports Plagueis really knowing that skill was when Palpatine muttered to himself how ironic it was Plagueis could help others but not keep himself from dying.

Why would Palpatine say that if it wasn't true, it was as if he was really saying it to himself and not Anakin.

Palpatine was savoring the irony of it.

I don't know maybe it was part of the illusion to brain wash the dopey kid afterall.

But how about those giant sperms swimming in the giant egg lol.

Because he may be Snoke. If there wasn't that possibility I doubt anyone would still be discussing him.

If Snoke does turn out to be Plagueis he'll have proved Palpatine wrong - only Palps won't be around to see it.

One way or the other I hope we get an explanation for Anakin's immaculate conception, as it was never overtly explained.

Yes, the PT left quite a few things unexplained: Sifo Dyas, Darth Plagueis and that scene with Dooku!

Unless Dooku was just trying to "blind Obi-Wan with the truth" or something.

Sido-Dyas was explained in the final excellent Yoda arc of the Clone Wars. As for Dooku I think he was trying to gauge if Obi Wan was corruptible against the Jedi & as you say blind him with the truth.

Personally the immaculate conception thing was the most laughable concept in PT.

I find Jar Jar as a senator more satisfying and realistic.

It's become much more believable lately.

Btw, anybody else think the top of Rey's pike looks a lot like Darth Maul's saber? I know it's meaningless, but the prop looks just like it.

Maybe when Luke says " It's time for the Jedi to end " maybe he wants to create a new breed of warrior

Why would he even bother to train Rey if he just wanted to eradicate the Jedi

Thanks for the tip! It's not ideal that supplemental material is needed to explain these things, but good to know it's out there.

Good point!

Way before TFA came out I saw a promo pic and had the idea she would break that pole an whip out the lightsaber stashed on the hilt.

Which is good enough reason for Disney NOT to do it. They don't want to undermine the lead villain of 6 movies.

Easier to just make a new villain -- Snoke -- with a new history and a new backstory that will be intertwined in a way that fan boys can talk about it forever with possibilities. It's really not that hard. Look what Lucas did with that one lame story at the opera.

As long as his final name isn't Snoke i'm good with whatever they do.

Snoke spelled backwards is Ekons.... Econs.... He cons....

Snoke with an "A" is.... Snake...

Snoke with an "M" is... Smoke... as in Smoke and Mirrors...

Put that all together, and you get.... SKINT.
