Wow ...just wow? Every heard of character development?

What character development.. How did Finn Grow in any of this except digging on a girl he has no chemistry with.. Would have been more of a character development if he sacrificed himself.. But Rose had to ruin what would have been a great moment. Stupid rose :lol

Introducing a new character, who made some very important statements about the nature of war, and where Finn fits in this struggle.

I needed a 40 min subplot for this?? Really??

This arc was about Poe learning to be a leader to take over for Leia.....he was being schooled in doing what is right versus a trigger happy "flyboy"...not sure how you could miss that.

I thought that point was made by Leia herself in the first 10 min... But I guess we needed it again because there was nothing better to do with him... It;s not like he Lead anymore after being a trigger happy flyboy the 2nd time.. One could argue its to set up his character for the 2nd film but I am focusing on this one story.. I did not see where he was anymore of a leader then he was already.. I guess he told them to call off the suicide mission against the At Ats but again... We had to watch 30++ min of stupid chase scenes to get to Poe trying to take command just to be wrong again and told the same thing leia told him 10 min into the film and then be a leader by calling off an attack that would have been an obvious suicide mission.

again...the point was to show these crazy risky adventures were bad decision making...They failed at their quest....that was the point....

Well that may be the case but that don;t make for good story telling and again ultimately serves no purpose to further the actual plot. There was better / shorter ways to get that same point across..

How about this..

Not Communicating is a bad decision.. Had Laura Dern just told everyone what the plan was they could have avoided everything.. Woman and their damn secrets :lol

Luke was always going to die in a sacrifice.

But how is Leia going to die? Maybe off screen, like Ackabr.

I can see the Episode 9 crawl now...

PRINCESS LEIA is dead! The Rebels are on the run!

But it does not matter.. Either way we would have found out the answer.. So what.. Its my point about finn and Poe.. We still would have gotten to the same conclusion..

wow. :lol

you do realize foreshadowing is a factor in all storytelling right? you are essentially saying a tool used in every form of storytelling is useless because “muh luke used the force not lightsaber, not muh luke”. this fan base is so pissy because they don’t know what they want, so they deny everything they get, even if it’s good. :lol

I’m actually thinking about this movie quite alot which is good.

Visually striking and super kinetic.
I also think of my hemorrhoids quite a lot when I get them but that does not mean its a good thing..

They are also Visually Striking and super Kinetic

I slept on a goddamn freezing cold dirty Manhattan sidewalk with a bunch of stormtroopers, lame dressed Jedi’s and a pregnant girl with a death star painted on her belly just for PT tickets.

I know what being let down by SW feels like and TLJ wasn’t it lol.

Perhaps you would have felt the same way had you slept in the cold and all the other junk for this film :lol

No this did not have the TPM or TFA feeling I got after viewing those films

you hit the nail on the head. a dissapointment the last jedi was not.

I did not need to be told it was salt.. It was a waste of time.. I could see everything for myself.. My point it not about the salt.. Its about the comment being as useless as Poe and Finns story.. Not needed and useless.. Would have reached the same conclusion without it.

Jeepers.

Its great you liked the film as much as you did.. Your points on why all the people that did not like it are are way off.. Whether you agree or not.. There are others reasons other then Meh Luke not use saber.. :(

I didn't mind the astral projection as an idea for how an aged Jedi would "fight". Makes more sense actually. But its convenient that the very time this new Jedi trick is used, that suddenly Kylo puts aside the traditional close-quarter saber fight style and suddenly uses a long-range charge-and-attack style so that Luke could use his Matrix moves without engaging. It's a "laser sword" jousting style I've never seen before but happens right when one opponent is a mirage. Convenient.

Re: Star Wars: The Last Jedi SPOILER DISCUSSION THREAD

Is the ending scene in the falcon a little deja vu to TFA?

And is this the end to the current trilogy? I’m so confused by the kid at the end.

Love the cameo of the security from Rebels!

Thought the same things.. But it did not bother me.

Re: Star Wars: The Last Jedi SPOILER DISCUSSION THREAD

As the credits rolled I stood and stared at the screen like this. I grew up with the OT then tried to find something I liked in the Special Editions, suffered thru the PT liking bits and pieces then the ST turned my childhood hero into a frightened old man and then killed him thru exhaustion to make way for a future that disregards the past. 31EB92D2-7A56-4D39-A43E-1476BC0F2D46.jpeg

Re: Star Wars: The Last Jedi SPOILER DISCUSSION THREAD

I really enjoyed it.
Seems a lot of you are just mad because you didn't see what you had built up in your imagination on screen.

thanks for proving my point. :lol

I honestly think some of you are too old and jaded for SW, as this movie states “you have no spark.” :lol You seem to forget you were on your mommas tit when you first experienced the universe. the last thing on your mind was plot, it was good v evil and explosions. SW has never been this god franchise invulnerable from problems, not even empire. the important part about SW is it’s themes not its plot. In fact, star wars is most remembered by its inconsistencies. that’s what keeps people talking and excited for a new chapter.

These aren’t oscar award winning films, and never will be. they aren’t designed to be. Going in with “if this isn’t as good as empire then it’s trash.” and the movie not meeting those expectations isn’t it’s fault. it’s yours. :lol
