This is the worst of all the saga. Don't like where this is heading. Bring back Lucas. Who will be left to do this justice fire this director

Re: Star Wars: The Last Jedi SPOILER DISCUSSION THREAD

Well yea, I don't blame your kids for not going straight to the old man action figure. Have you tried a young OT Luke?

Because ive seen nothing but kids love the OT. Why do you think Darth Vader merchandise is still absolutely everywhere?

Vader was in Rebels and Rogue One. I think Leia was there one or two episodes... but no Luke anywhere.

No member here can deconstruct a movie franchise that spans decades like Master DiFabio can and his masterful and mostly valid (some are stretching it) posts have proven that and while there are others that come very close in their own way he is the master of ceremoniously reducing a modern property into ashes.

He makes others on here who also think they’re great at negative reduction look like amateurs. This is why Wor-Gar said wait until DiFabio brings the hammer he knows the deal.

Put it this way if DiFabio can’t convince me to hate something no one else will.

Now i’ve got some bad news for Master DiFabio.

Disney not only prepared for the Master DiFabio’s of the world they’ve actually outsmarted them.

The layers of teflon that Disney has coated on their new SW movies is so thick, so anti DiFabio that NO MATTER HOW HARD HE TRIES to take the universal stink from the PT and make them stick to Disney Wars the poop immediately just slides right off.

I’m not saying his points aren’t valid most are i’m just pointing out the harsh reality that Disney did their work and have successfully brought back SW from the laughing stock of cinema place it found itself in due to the PT.

Now critics love them, they have an A cinemascore and top 2 openings in cinema history.

Disney Teflon was given to them by moses himself.

But if anybody can do an episode IV Luke on Disney Teflon it’s DiFabio but you might need some help from a force ghost lol

Luke made a brief cameo in one episode. So brief that he almost wasn't even there.

But if anything that proves my point. He isn't in any of the new stuff and yet Luke Skywalker toys and other stuff from the OT keep getting released. Same with Vader before either Rouge One or his appearance in rebels. People of all ages still just love these movies and there is a market for them.

:lol :lol

Ween is awesome sometimes I just want to give her a big chewie hug.

And we're back to money somehow equating to victory.

Paid critical acclaim and strong box office can't transform a **** movie into a good one.

Re: Star Wars: The Last Jedi SPOILER DISCUSSION THREAD

I feel in 30 years or so people will go see TLJ at midnight showings every weekend. They can make cat calls at the screen and throw green milk at each other. A real cult classic.

Yeah maybe you’re right money is really irrelevant for the hollywood studios.

Hey how’s that Blade Runner sequel coming along good that movie was a true masterpiece wasn’t it.

What about the Michael Jackson promo kids hiding out in the stables?

I hate hollywood versions of poor kids. :lol

That kid actor’s father is a studio executive I could smell the money on him underneath that makeup dirt.

Can’t they just take a kid off the street in India or Bangladesh and put him in the movie lol

Don’t even feed him before filming for extra suffering realism.

You just know that actor kid had cavier right before they filmed his scene.

Blade Runner 2049 was the best movie of the year.

Its depressing that I genuinely thought TLJ could match it's quality.

Re: Star Wars: The Last Jedi SPOILER DISCUSSION THREAD

maybe the issue is your really mad that you grew up to become a cynical jaded human and your frustrated you cannot see these films with they eyes of a child...

That sentence sums up how I feel about most online opinions regardiing movies and the toys that this forum is all about lol! It just seems that a lot of people cant simply just enjoy things anymore.

TLJ did exactly what a Star Wars movie should do for me. I stayed away from spoilers and was so surprised by the major things that happened that I was literally in shock when the movie ended. I honestly felt like I was watching as a kid just like when I saw the OT. it wasnt a perfect movie, none of them are. But it did deliver for me and I loved it.

Re: Star Wars: The Last Jedi SPOILER DISCUSSION THREAD

So what questions were asked in this poll? Do they actually not watch the OT or did they just not happen to mention them?

It’s a public classroom so it wasn’t a formal poll however; talking with them about their favorite characters etc.

As you mentioned, if they watch and love the OT id expect to hear classic names or movies...

Boys love Vader, Chewie, Kylo and some Ezra and the big purple guy. Girls it’s Rey, Jyn, Chewie and BB8.

They don’t talk about OT or R1 it’s Rebels, TFA and the princess show. None mention the old films at all. Listening can give a lot of insight to what their watching.

There were some great moments in the movie and it was a lot of fun, but it made the unforgivable mistake of not taking itself or it's world seriously. It tried to be knowingly clever with its humor but ended up breaking the Star Wars reality. I've defended both Disney SW movies to date, I can't defend this one. It felt like fluff, it felt like Disney. And those kids.. **** when I saw them sticking their heads around the corner it looked like a Disney commercial or a Jackson video.

They broke it.. they ducking broke it.

Re: Star Wars: The Last Jedi SPOILER DISCUSSION THREAD

Some folks here were probably never the intended audience for Star Wars to begin with based upon the disparity of what appears to be their world view and the views of the creators (including Lucas from day one) of Star Wars. In fact maybe some should replace their worn VHS George Lucas movie collections with a filmmaker that they are more aligned with like Leni Riefenstahl.

Meh, I'm nothing. Thanks for polishing my knob though! Nothing anyone can say or do, can stop Disney. They're unstoppable. Look at the news. They're buying up everything to the point where they'll have a stranglehold on the market. They'll own everything before it's all said and done and all the low IQ plebs will clap and cheer them on.

They can't stop people from criticizing the **** they put out, not yet anyway. Until then, I say let people ***** to their heart's content, website scores and box office numbers be damned. Sooner or later, a lot of folks will lose their online voices when we lose our internet privileges anyway. Let em' rant.

Hell yeah let them rant I need my lulz.

Disney already owns my sister I think she takes it from the front monday-wednesday and the rear thursday-friday. :lol
