The problem is TLJ was a very entertaining movie (apart from the Holdo BS and ****ing Rose.. I hate Rose)..

But.. it basically shat on everything that TFA tried to establish, the mysteries that JJ put in to inspire the next movie.. and not in a good way. It seemed to me it was like Trump trying to obliterate Obama's legacy, it just destroyed SW for effect. I actually hate Johnson now because I think he went out of his way too be as sensationalist as possible & SW paid the price long term. Little ****. It was cheap and incredibly stupid. I couldn't care less for IX. Never thought I would say that.

This thread is exhausting to keep up with. :lol

I liked/enjoyed the movie, and was somehow able to not have all the things I really disliked throughout (almost all the humor/casino scene/flying Leia/laundy ship/Fraggle Rock caretakers/no-shirt Kylo/Snoke smashing Hux around slapstick style) not ruin my overall experience. Still not sure how that was possible—I was just so excited to see some Star Wars action again as I had completely cut myself off from trailers and commercials after that very first teaser trailer.

I'll have to see it again to see how it holds up as some of the issues with the story might bother me more second time around. I really didn't have much issue with how the overall storylines for Snoke, Kylo, Luke, and Rey though.

So Snoke and Luke are gone, guess nobody gets to complete their training.

People like to bring up that Kylo never completed his training with Snoke when he actually did. The whole ruse by Snoke force linking Kylo and Rey was Snoke training or test for Kylo. It is to test his resolve and conflict and see if he will actually complete the mission given to him cause Kylo only flaw at that point was that he hasn't completely embraced the Dark side yet and was still conflicted. Only drawback was it work so well that Kylo fulfill the Sith prophecy of the Apprentice replacing the Master.

great analogy

So far you really haven't been able to.

Well I guess I'm off to drown my sorrows over the kitchen sink again, lol.

I knew it. I felt the conflict within you. Two more viewings and your grade will be down to 7/10.

Well we'll always have BR 2049. :rock :rock

:D

My friend was complaining about the first order today and where it all came form..

The world building in these films should be easy since its SW.. But it's non existent in these two fims.

Tell him it grew out of the ashes of the Empire.....

As stated in the film ......

Damn dude, get to the point where you can't defend your position anymore and you start throwing put personal insults. Real mature.

And this series is mine just as much as it is yours.

Even Khev has given up cause you are just not listening anymore. I see no point in continuing either.

I am gonna go watch it the fourth time this week and maybe a fifth before the theatrical run ends.

More SW for me. I am putting the money where my mouth is. I am actually spending more money on the movie.

I'm listening. You are just talking nonsense that is either contradicted by a previous installments of the franchise or just simple logic. Plugging in fan theories that have no backing (in some cases straight contradoctions of established facts) or stating that complete plotholes have clear explanations so long as you are willing to buy a fan theory that no audience member should have been expected to fill in the gaps with as they were watching the movie.

I've heard every word you've said. All ive done is point out why your defences are simply wrong. And unlike you, I haven't resorted to a personal attack about any of it.

Force users need extensive training to use the Force (with more training the more extensive the feat), let alone win a Lightsaber battle against another force adept. You just can't get around that fact.

Seems like Disney have sent Rian out to try and quench the flames that will burn the Star Wars franchise down.. he is interviewing everywhere defending/discussing what he did. ouch.

"I don’t know what’s gonna happen in Episode 9 at all.... He (Luke) could be a Force ghost haunting Kylo Ren.

It’s fascinating, isn’t it?"

No, Rian. It's not actually. It's ****.

300 pages later.....people that hate is still do....those that liked it still do.....

And those who are clearly not paying attention to the film keep asking questions that have been answered....(no liking that answers does not rate)

Let the dude "put his money where his mouth is" and continue to spend money on a **** movie.

I like lots of totally **** movies and have spent money on vhs, dvd, blu-ray and now UHD copies. Who cares? its subjective. World would be a boring place if everyone understood that TLJ is total bull ****.
:rotfl

I don't care what he spends his money on. I don't even care if he liked the movie. We were just debating one detail in it.

Who made the map to Luke and why?

Actually that notion has been pretty soundly debunked with on-screen examples from the OT, PT, ST, script story meetings, theological and mythological inspirations for the Saga, etc., and yet each time it's re-explained all you can say is:

I'm not really trying to insult you I just love posting that clip, lol
