I expect it to tank fast when the people like me don't go for 2nd viewing, and don't buy the Blu-ray. Watching with interest for the next few weeks box office.

You say you didn't like the Casino planet (Canto Bight). But isn't that exactly something that Lucas would have done? Didn't you say that TFA "needed more Lucas?" And morphosis made a very interesting point in that the casino showed how complacent, greedy, and self-serving the galaxy had become after the fall of the Empire, hence havens like the casino and no one answering the distress call. Characters like DJ who could be top heroes on either side but simply don't care enough to get involved unless they get a direct and immediate benefit. I find that all to be incredibly fascinating and brings the story to a place it's never been before, great "galaxy building" with that glimpse of life outside the FO/Resistance conflict IMO.

If you mean in empire strikes back, he says this again in return of the jedi "there is another Skywalker". Obi wan tells Luke it's leia, but luke has realized this just before. So jedi didn't ignore yodas comment on ESB.

It did actually. Leia never could have been the "other" hope that Yoda referenced in ESB. Because if Luke failed in rescuing her then she would have been dead too. Think about the dialogue between Yoda and Ben if you use the character's names.

The entire context of the discussion between Luke and Yoda/Ben was whether or not he should go rescue them or "sacrifice Han and Leia."

Posts like these make me genuinely believe you work for Disney in some capacity and are afraid they're monitoring your browser somehow lol

There's no ****ing way you actually like the garbage they did to Luke in this movie. Luke Skywalker, Jedi Master, son of The Chosen One and Rebellion LEGEND reduced to pointless scenes on an island and an astral projection fight with Kylo Ren.

The REAL Luke Skywalker would have arrived on that salt planet, Magneto'd those Gorilla AT-ATs crushing everyone inside, Force-choked Kylo unconscious, dispatched the Praetorian guards in seconds ala Yoda and killed Snoke by slicing his head off.

Disney gave us the opposite of that.

My exact quote is that the PT could have used a lot more Kasdan and TFA could use a little more Lucas..

More of Lucas imagination. I felt that TFA was very small and lacked the other world personality.

Canto Bight was the worst of both worlds.

It was a place that was about as far from a galaxy far far away as it gets. Gambling tables, popping champagne, Horse racing (that from afar looks like horse racing)

and then fill it with the worst of the PT humor and stupid CGI aliens..

Personally that never felt like star wars..

Not to mention Star Wars never forced its message down your throat.. It was there (big evil galactic corporations) but it did not spell it out for you.. This film had an agenda in more ways then one and that was a bit annoying and not at all in the spirit of the films that came before it.

I said this many pages back.. I felt that DJ was one of the better characters in this film.

But as a whole that whole sequence is a failure and probably the worst thing in any SW film.
