"Don't make SW anything like the films that came before because that would be a creatively bankrupt ripoff. But definitely don't take the Saga in any new or unexpected directions either. There's a little gray area in there and that's where you operate."

"Got it? GOT IT???" :panic:

In all honesty, TLJ isn't birdemic, it just causes problems for the movies that have come before it. I kind of feel like rian johnson may have been confusing Star wars and star trek like my fiance does. I'm just never getting over frozen space leia, hyperspace through ships, and force projection, which may be an EU idea, but for this movie it feels kind of like a cop out.

Wait did BF2 end up being a disaster after all? I stopped following it once I learned that it might have TLJ spoilers. jye can you confirm??

Ignore all the complaints the game is a freaking blast to play.

There are visuals and set pieces that will drop your jaw as a fan of SW.

EA is incompetent AF, they can barely run a mobile game properly

They are greedy AF but the game is a SW powerhouse that pushes thru all the negative and provides the best SW videogame experience I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing.

The player is not forced to spend an extra penny on their greed.

Let Khev buy it lol

I doubt that Johnson set out to make a SW film different just for the sake of being different. Now I *do* think that he deliberately had things go in unexpected directions in order to allow the audience to actually be surprised while watching a SW film again but I don't count that as choosing to be different as a means to its own end or simply because he hated the previous movie.

I think those surprised worked in the moment.. Its after having time to think about it or viewing it a second time that let me down..

It;s not even that aspect of the film that I don;t like..

Its the Poe and Finn parts that I think are the worst things that the series this side of AOTC

I did kind of chuckle at how immediately Luke went off and changed his clothes after meeting Rey (I guess Johnson didn't much care for THAT outfit, lol) but I got the impression that Johnson made the film that most struck his creative nerves and then tried to reverse engineer it to fit with TFA. A lot of people are acting like he totally erased everything built by TFA "Alien 3 style" but that just isn't the case. It continued TFA, while continuing a character we hadn't seen since ROTJ, while also paying some lip service to how current events evolved from even the PT. I saw a lot of respect being paid to previous films while still allowing fans to pick and choose which ways they want to "fill in the blanks."

I don;t mind filling in the blanks.. Hell before the PT, the story I made up in my head the of the events that happened before ANH is far better then what Lucas came up with.. :lol

This film IMO needed to improve the ideas that were placed in TFA.. TFA was made in a way to make us wonder about what was coming next.. Like that damn Rey dream scene where she can here Yoda, and Obi Wan, and sees the Knights of Ren but all of that is just nothing..

Its like when Yoda says "No there is another" the the Last hope statement... And along comes Jedi and completely ignores that. This film did the same thing with many things revolving around Rey..

I'm so glad that I simply didn't watch the same film as many of the naysayers here (and not in a right vs. wrong sense, I'm just glad that I didn't see this alleged abomination of an Episode that others claim to have watched.)

It's so weird as I did not see that film also... Until about 15 min after the film ended :lol

If you mean in empire strikes back, he says this again in return of the jedi "there is another Skywalker". Obi wan tells Luke it's leia, but luke has realized this just before. So jedi didn't ignore yodas comment on ESB.
