That salt planet is symbolic -- like ripping through flesh to reveal the blood beneath -- like the way the movie rips your heart out of your chest.

:D

See what I did there, Khev?

I saw it as the FO pouring salt on the resistance wound. :lol

Lots of wounds to pour salt on really.

I'm beginning to think some of them are droids who have no hearts.

I totally forgot about the multiple-Reys-clicks-their-fingers scene.

I thought she was going to let out a MJ shrill cry and begin doing a few hip thrusts. It really felt like something out of a cheesy late 70's music video where they used video "effects" like replicating the singer as if in mirrors.
I kept waiting for the rey/kylo force interactions to cut to something like this...

It's all that.

And more.

It looks like a clear change of direction, of changing screenplays and getting into a complete mess with time running out fast.

It was undoubtedly going to be an ice planet in the early stages of development.

As much as all this jibing is fun, I'm envious of the people who liked this movie... I wish I liked it and wanted to rush out and see it again. I really do.

All movies going thru changes during their production phase though.

So TLJ sucks even more now because there “might’ve” been a change during preproduction?

Yikes.

Yeah, I'd be probably be pretty pissed if this movie rubbed me the way it did a lot of you. But thank God that the TLJ that *I* saw gave worthy send-offs to such icons as Luke, Leia, and Yoda. I realize that I might be in the minority when it comes to die hard fans on this one, but I'll take it.

RO's space battle still takes the cake though.

And who makes a movie that has actors die before it's released? What's up with that? Stupid Rian Johnson.

The snow / salt change looks so glaring.

The Vulptex arctic foxes with their ice crystal fur, and the deployment of snowtroopers. All of that was advanced production.

Then at a late stage they change the snow to salt to sell Luke's force projection.
