there ya go brother

I would’ve been more impressed with Kennedy’s female viewership % increase had she accomplished it with better integration into the narrative of the movie because as it stands now Holdo, Rose, Rey and Leia are not holding up to the scrutiny.

I do think Disney and Kennedy are taking a huge risk with using this franchise to perform their social experimentation on but if you’re going to do that then you better make sure you do it seamlessly within a solid plot foundation with expert handling of character arcs and payoffs it can’t just be all about the stakes and thrills if you’re going to play around with feminism in this particular delicate sandbox of a white male dominated franchise.

dude more whites living in Harlem now than maybe ever before...fact...aint the Harlem I remember in the 60s,70s,80s,early 90s

Very true I was just using that as an example for non the New Yorkers. :lol

100%....I hope Lando is reading this and is saying "Thank God I didn't" all while enjoying a cool crisp bottle of colt 45 malt Liquor with a side of fried Porg wings and hot sauce...all made by the local Chinese take out guy

If Disney did not kill off the force religion this would be at least 7/10....still cant believe how blatant the social agenda was in this film...Hamill was the best part for me and I thought his acting above all the others was superb

Yeah his acting was very well done his face, eyes and vocal qualities were perfectly balanced with emotion.

Poe’s coup reminded me of this:

Believe me i’m all for feminism after all I do have a mother, sister and neice (no daughter just a son) but if you’re going to do it with Star Wars just please do it in a respectful manner that makes narrative sense to the franchise and fans, that’s all not too complicated.

Speaking of feminism where I work in every single room where a male boss employee is with any female employee not just a subordinate but any female emoyee the men are now using hidden recorders to record their interactions with the females 100% of the time lol.

Can’t say I blame them.

Anyways back to the movie I still don’t think it’s a POS like the PT are lol.

hehe.....and so many cant see thru that

Ok, I have plenty of problems with this movie but you guys are getting goofy with all of the political crap. And it's not that everyone can be great but rather that you don't have to come from greatness or some special bloodline to rise above and be something special. There's nothing wrong with that, that's actually one of the better points of the movie. Heck, that's one of the best things about the U.S.A. Obi-Wan whipped the chosen one's ass in a one on one duel. He didn't come from some special bloodline or act of the force. Most of the Jedi came from all over the place.

That's the thing though. Marvel isn't doing that. So truly this isn't on Disney, but on Lucasfilm, so Kathleen Kennedy.
Can't wait for her to leave, but I assume it's gonna be a while, unless TLJ bombs (which would be the movie barely making more than 1 billion), and then Solo.
Just..riot, protest. Kathleen out!

Just be ready for all the lack of training complaints coming your way. :lol

So true. Boy have times changed. :lol

I was the same way and when I saw Splinter of the Mind's Eye at the bookstore I bought it with my allowance and tore through it in a couple of days! :lol

I still have that much loved, dog eared copy on my shelf. :yess:

The Han Solo trilogy was awesome at the time and fed my hunger for more Star Wars! :lol

The Han Solo books are still some of my favorite. Loved how Daley explained the stripe on Solo's pants as the Corellian Blood stripe. Didn't like how it changed to yellow in empire because it seemed like just something to add color to his outfit for the movie.

Trust me, I completely agree. I'm really trying to leave politics out of this debate because like I said, I've got no problem with powerful females in Star Wars, and I myself I'm far more on the left side of things. But for example, as a vegan, the Chewie/Porg scene pissed me off (same with Rose freeing the animals on Canto Bight). I already think about animal suffering everyday, I don't want to be reminded in a ****ing Star Wars movie. Does that make sense?

Like I said many posts ago, it's all about balance. There is a right way to put messages in movies, and if they do it either too poorly are too extremely, it's bad, it's gotta be in the middle. Kinda like the Force apparently.

I know there’s animal cruelty in the world but I have clients that feed their cat cavier, they get better medical care than humans, wear very expensive clothes and have nannies :lol

Behold the power of Cheese

These parts still resonates with me.

Kylo telling Rey screw the dark and light side just burn it all down. Kylo improved for me tremendously.

Same for the very visually striking red guard battle.

While it shouldn’t have been Holdo screw it that scene still has to be one of the most satisfying vehicle moments in all of the SW movies, silence instead of explosion.

Lucas would never said that...That's like Bruce Wayne telling some kid "F" your Family, your mother, your father, who needs em"...Tony Stark yes..LOL
