Rather than getting caught up in ideology, perhaps it would be clearer to explain why the propaganda of this film is so nauseating without directly mentioning feminism:
The film crosses a threshold where it doesn't just promote inclusivity or egalitarianism, but is overtly anti-male. This franchise was originally used to market toys to male children. Think about that. Male kids who didn't know anything about gender or politics, were raised by parents who took them to see these movies, then bought them these toys. Lucas Film MARKETED this franchise to young men. It was about men, celebrating aspects of manhood within our society. In this new film, rather than expand what had previously been offered to men so that it was aimed at both men and women, completely emasculated every single man in the movie in keeping with some sort of sexist fantasy of a universe where all men are weak, incompetent, naive, aggressive and/or dependent on the wisdom of women to function. It was a bigoted film, although I'm sure Kennedy and Johnson don't see it that way. It was hateful.
Am I angry that the Star Wars universe is no longer solely for men? Hell no. I don't want my younger female family members growing up on Barbie dolls and the like. I wouldn't want my nieces to grow up weak. However, also don't want them growing up with an irrational prejudice toward men.
