I come here to laugh at posts however; the nonsense has escalated to new levels.

Speaks volumes to some of the freaks in this forum...keep up the good work 👍

Like you and rush i’m a fan of the movie and while I think rush and I probably share similar social views I don’t agree to just abandon this thread because of the heavy influx of opposing viewpoints especially ones focused on the social political aspects of the movie.

Snikt is right one Disney only has itself to blame.

If Disney didn’t want an influx of angry white men then they picked the wrong franchise to play social engineering with. SW is mostly an all white male dominated franchise.

Now it’s too late Disney now has to deal with the fallout and passionate reaction.

While I personally don’t get offended by such things i’m going to respect those that do and hear out their complaints because they are valid .

So yeah i’m not going anywhere give me your best shot I can do this all day lol.

I love you man:lsvader:family

Its really depressing. To be a massive SW fan and have to basically lie through your teeth on camera every single week.

I'd much rather work at Home Depot for $8.10 an hour and retain my honesty and freedom than receive $2K Disney checks in the mail every month that force me to say TLJ is a great movie.

I would just disconnect myself from the work and i would treat it like an acting job basically.

If i was in their place i would just visualize this as an improv class where i had to say the opposite of what i felt.

Damn. :lol

And for the record I'm not just jumping to the posts from people who share my opinions. Obviously I think that critics like JAWS, Kuat, and certain others have brought great points to the discussion even if I disagree with them.

I don't even think they need checks to lose their honesty. Being invited to the premieres + various small perks are probably enough.

In following videos Kristian has really been defending the point of view of people who hated the movie and trying to say their issues are totally valid. You can tell he is completely lost between his personal Star Wars fan convictions, and having to pretend (especially being surrounded by a lot of people who loved the movie).
agreed

I wonder how many that cried on election night of 2016 loved TLJ....If Vegas had bets on that I would bet the farm...

Well, there it is. It's easy to understand why critics/the media like it so much, yet the public doesn't. The parallels are there. The truth is, no one who was involved in gamergate really pays attention to what critics say anymore, who are at best converged and at worst corrupted and in direct pay by the content producing corporations.

When it comes to this movie the problem is convergence, they agree with the agenda. But what most people believe is clear, we all agree with Mark. The rating will keep going down, at this rate of decline the audience score will be bellow 50% in a week.

Damn. :lol

Do you deny that Disney/Kennedy/Rian/whoever had a political agenda in this film? or just don't care if it did or did not?

I'm done in this thread.

The constant stream of hate, political and non-political bashing, little to no actual discussion going on of any relevance to the film.

It's just an ugly place now.

I'm so disappointed in this forum.

I can handle people not liking something I like, but this has just gotten out of hand.

I think you just need to pick and choose who you read and respond to.

I am also using the Khev method.

Just out of curiosity though, is threadcrapping even a thing anymore? Not criticism, but the GARBAGE posts?

I don't really care, this place is what it is, but that used to be a thing. Like, a thing that was discouraged. :lol

The only thing that's annoying me about this thread now is that everyone blames DISNEY!
All Disney did was buy out Lucasfilm, it still runs independently, just Disney profit from it.

Kathleen and her team would have still made the same choices whoever owned Lucasfilm. I highly doubt Bob Igor has any input whatsoever apart from demanding that Lucasfilm pump out x number of films by 2020.

And do people seriously think the film, or trilogy would have been better in the hands of George Lucas?

There's that point in the film after Snoke's bodyguards have been despatched when Kylo is pleading with Rey to see things his way. She refuses and he becomes hysterical in his frustration:

"No, no, you're still holding on! Let go!"

That pretty much sums up the opposing views of this film. Each side trying win the other to theirs.

But with this film, as with the PT there is only a path through the middle of it. A very narrow and precarious path, with unsafe footholds. I have to select the things that I like, and overlook (or absorb) the awkward moments.

I'll raise my vote to 5/10 as predicted.

Meanwhile, the tomatoes are turning to the dark side:

The critics dropped 1%. :panic:

Yeah Lucas would **** it up as well. I just think they made a HUGE mistake with Rian (unless that was their agenda/plan all along) How this got the green light i have no idea. I am certain JJ's ep8 would have been a smash hit. (this is coming from someone who liked ep7 but disliked RO so there you go)

I don’t think there’s even been threadcrapping here.

The fans against the movie have for the most part been very polite while being very vocal expressing their anger and frustrations.

I’ve always maintained that Kennedy had better be perfect when experimenting with this franchise or there would be hell to pay lol

Absolutely...The force the way we were taught about it for 40 years would still be around

Rumor was he was supposed to have a shaved head, I think he would look bad ass. But that’s Disney probably subjectively trying to put skinheads in it

The shave head is not a good look for Adam Driver. He has a tiny head, so it would look like a peanut on top of that big upper body. The long hair like Loki works for him, but a beard would be different and unique. I don't remember anyone in the FO or empire with a beard.

I remember you saying that....I didn't say poop here until I saw the film...Star Wars is like Disneys own money printing machine....cant lose...maybe ever...maybe less profits than before but still $$$success...and that is not necessarily a good thing...Ed Wood could direct this and it'll still make a billion... The TLC is gone from Star Wars Production...Lucas while not perfect had IMHO heart to SW...Kennedy/Rian/Disney/Whoever....no heart IMHO of course

This should speak volumes to those who would defend the movie. (there's an even more factual one of these out there)
