What id that "Snoke" was a ruse? I mean what if that was not the real Snoke....

I had a similar thought. What if Hux is the big bad? That whole Snoke-head dragging him on the ground merely an act for the crew.

I like when Hux was going to shoot wounded Kylo until he woke up and Hux quietly puts his gun back in its holster.

Politics is in SW now so nothing really surprising to have these reactions to it.

I’ve read your review so I know you have valid reasons for not liking it but I also believe there are other forces at play here.

Oh I did not like the agenda that was being pushed.. That is for sure.. But in a better movie... I would not care.

Agreed on that issue up to a point....if the agenda wasn't there. .this automatically would have been a way better film

Yeah. Quint dies in the book too, but then so does Hooper.... so it was more about keeping Hooper alive than killing off Quint.

People will always find something political in movies. That's why we got Lando... and now we got Rose.

Hooper was supposed to die in the film also.. However a real great white messed up the scene.. A small person was supposed to get into a smaller cage to halp get some footage with a real live (but average sized great white).. But the shark got stuck between the cage and boat before the Man ever got it.. It was great footage and they wanted to use it.. But there was no Hooper in the cage.. So they let him escape..

So in a way, the shark saved Hooper.

But the shark got stuck between the cage and boat before the Man ever got it.. It was great footage and they wanted to use it.. But there was no Hooper in the cage.. So they let him escape..

Carl Rizzo, yeah. But I don't think they decided to keep Hooper alive because he wasn't in the cage -- after all, the shark could have ate "Hooper" if he was supposed to die, right?

The way I learned it, Spielberg wanted a happy ending for Brody and some dialogue to bring things to a close, so he felt Hooper should survive.

Not that kind of happy ending BTW.

Kathleen Kennedy is like batman, she, she changed things forever. There is no going back. She tried to be a hero and tried to change these movies to. Be more inclusive
And all she did was create hundreds of jokers looking for nothing but chaos now. That rotten tomatoes audience score is just the beginning.

Well I do appreciate the honesty and nor am I labeling you as an AltRight KKK member for not liking it but the reality is that group has come out in full force to meet Kennedy head on because there is nothing bigger in media than SW.

They’re already mocking Hamill for his anti Trump/Bannon comments and the actress who played Rose.

Which agenda?

I mean I felt a very rich versus poor theme. But that was established in the first 10 seconds of ANH, with a gigantic military ship chasing a small vessel.....perhaps a bit undone by RO...

But Luke a poor dirt farmer....heads off to fight the big powerful empire and succeeds it blowing it to smithereens...

The female power agenda is present also....I can see that angle being pushed hard in this one. But I never had much of an issue with it.

The Empire was a nice substitute for the Nazi's.. somehting we can all agree are bad.. Hell they even have stormtroopers..

But there was no :these guys are the worst people in the galaxy" then pan to the rich folks on a boat.

ROTS had the "If you are not with me then you are my enemy" which may or may not have been a slight towards George Bush.. But that was the only real obvious thing in the film..

There is also the obvious good guys are multicultural with lots of females and the bad guys are mostly white men.

The Vegan message and the animal abuse message. The Vegan joke was more subtle but the animal one not so much.. Plus is what a direct knock at Hourse racing. I have no views on that but some feel very strongly that Horse racing is animal abuse.

Then there is the "all men are emotional messes " and all woman are the intelligent stable ones" This particular one I would not mind if I did not feel like I was being preached at all the time with the other stuff.

Again I say none of this would matter if the script and characters were all done better. Make all the messages subtle and part of a great script.. Well I think SW fans would not be complaining at all.

PT needed a lot more Kasdan and TFA needed a little bit of Lucas.

For me I think the PT feel more like SW films then these new movies.. And none of the same OT actors are in it (minus the Emperor)

Granted they are poorly acted films with a lot of bad FX but they still have that SW feel. I have to attribute that to Lucas.

New films are missing something.. I don;t know what.. They are better made films then the PT but feel less like SW movies.

I always attributed the lack of imagination to the world building for TFA not feeling like SW but the new one misses a bit also.. But TLJ is closer to SW feel then TFA.

I have to assume its the lack of Lucas... Except RO feels like a SW film also.. But how could it not?

But I don;t want to come across as defending the PT. They are loaded with their own issues


For the record.. Darth Vader's "Nooooooooooooooo" is worse then anything that is in TFA and TLJ.

This is probably from 3 days ago but I’m still catching up on about 900 posts.

I think a lot comes down to the editing/shooting/pacing of the PT. It’s similar to the OT in a lot of those ways cause of Lucas—it’s not like he had been directing tons of movies and evolving in those 20 years between Star Wars and TPM. But these new movies just feel like straight-up modern flicks in their frenetic pacing/non stop action. They’ve introduced flashbacks which I kind of hate for these. They’ve also screwed up the epic-ness and scope of the OT and PT in that these first two movies feel like they’ve taken place in the span of a week. It doesn’t have that long war feel that the OT had.

There also didn’t seem to be much of an attempt in these new movies to match the look of the OT in that sense—how shots were framed, etc. PT does have a boatload of elements that make it feel way different in its own way though from the OT—obvious stuff, cheesy character designs, bad CGI.

Yeah I was not worried about you labeling me my good friend. I can;t stand the Alt right.. I am defiantly conservative but more then anything I dont like having anyone push their agenda on me when I am just trying to watch a family fantasy movie.

I get more frustrated about being preached at by the morally bankrupt Hollywood folks who are all (guess what?) Rich, powerful, and some as we are now finding out recently... Abusive.

Again the Rich being evil thing would not have been an issue to me.. They could have filmed it the same way but if you take out that line it plays more subtlety and not preachy.. I know its not much of a difference but it serves the overall story better and does not feel like the film stops and breas the 4th wall to give its message.




However I go back to the fact that I don;t think the media should be focusing on an Alt right idiot that has a 100 followers on his page who claims he hurt the ratings.. That is letting the real problems this film has off the hook.

Like I have been saying... Just look at the reviews here and on "normal" You tube critic channels .. It has nothing to do with altright.
