I would even say that #1 was just alright. It was fun but has its plot problems like so many other parts of the movie.

His new trilogy was never a real thing. That was marketing -- a way for Disney to show how 'behind the film' they are and how thrilled they are with it. The Rian Trilogy will never happen.

I think Johnson will direct another SW film, the first one of "his trilogy", and then the sequel will be written and directed by some other guy ( Kennedy) who will ignore Johnson's film, and make his own movie. Karma.

I'm guessing that Johnson might be hearing Kennedy's footsteps approaching his door and is trying to win over the fans who didn't like his flick before his new trilogy gets taken away. I'm picturing him feverishly typing away on social media while locked in his office like the warden at the end of Shawshank Redemption as Kennedy's goons pound on the door.

The knocks on his door are probably from Kennedy's boss's goons, whoever that is.

Honestly it is. We just got a brand new trilogy of awesome movies (yes "IMO") with TFA/RO/TLJ, one sweet prequel and two sweet sequels. PT tried to allow us to have six great SW flicks and failed and so balance is restored, I have six movies to enjoy that allowed one last goodbye to old friends, this time with my kids. I'm sure I'll show up for the new ones for however long but it feels good to have this current jumping off point if I want it to be.
