Like I said, this is our new PC culture. The irony is the people who make these accusation claim they are “open minded and inclusive”, but by dismissing a counter perspective with attacks of “sexism and racism” they are being anything but open minded and inclusive. It’s a playbook designed to squash challenges to their position, and it works really well.
So yeah Poe was NOT emasculated by Holdo but if everyone wants to ignore her compliment about him then ok sure men suck.
"I'm not gonna spin or change the wheel...I'm gonna break it" Quote by Denaerys Targaryan used by Johnson and Kennedy
IMO it was Disney's way of slightly softening what they had just done. Having Leia shoot him was a bit much. "Oh, we better say something nice..."
Um didn’t Holdo tell Leia after Poe was stunned that she liked him being exactly who he was?
She never once said “You will go to jail until your behavior and inherit character traits are changed to be how I want you to be!”
No she told Leia that she liked him being who he was a much needed and appreciated spark.
Which i’m sure people will now point out that if she liked him like he was then why didn’t she trust him enough to just tell him her plan.
I don’t know about anyone here but i’ve been in plenty of situations where my superior officers have tested my character by keeping critical pieces of information from me or given me false information for their own motives or had me find out things on my own or just flat out said “need to know basis deal with it!”.
Sometimes my superiors would even show their dissatisfaction in the most round about mysterious way or even worse their appreciation in the most direct rude manner that left me scratching my head trying to figure out if I was being complimented or disciplined.
Not everyone gets everything they always want to know sometimes things are compartmentalized.

I would by that if the bluray was an extended edition with that compliment inserted after the theatrical version backlash.
An estimated -71.5% for TLJ this week-end (on the right, RO on the left, and TFA in the middle):

At how much money does this hurt Disney? Or has it already made so much they really don't care? Normally sequels aren't that high compared to the first chapter but is this making a dent in their pockets?
believe it or not it hurts...not to a certain degree maybe...but when those Executive bosses last week expected XXX and only get XX...well somebody is gonna hear about itAt how much money does this hurt Disney? Who had a lamer death?
Padme - Death by broken heart/lost will to live aka Palpatine took her life force and transplanted onto a dying Vader.
The best death in the series would probably be Jabba (asphyxiation by slave girl).
Hopefully they will show the documentary with the footage of Kennedy with strap on making Johnson bite a pillow...all while discussing episode 8 watching Caligula and Pulp Fiction at the same time

If that 'aka' part had actually been in the film I might have accepted it. But, as always, leave it to comics, games and cartoons to fill in substantial blanks.
Pity she couldn't have done it like Xenia Onatopp.

Love and compassion were taught and practiced fondly by the people of Gatalenta, and crying openly was considered a virtue and proof of a caring heart
I had issues with the story, but thought it was very well directed. In fact, that's one of the key elements that sets Last Jedi apart from the prequels. If the acting and direction were terrible, as they were in the prequels, then I wouldn't have enjoyed this film.TLJ is quite simply a badly written, badly directed movie. Quite incompetent, actually.
Yeah, I've been thinking some about this after all the, I suppose right-wing backlash I'm picking up on here? And regarding Poe, even though the resistance was small at that point, he had been demoted, and wasn't in a "need to know" situation. Superior officers aren't required to tell their subordinates why they are doing what they are doing, and in the majority of cases won't. So that's fine with me. But stepping back a bit, I can see that there may have been a larger agenda at play, given that the main protagonist, and all of the rebel leadership are female, while Poe and to a lesser extent Finn are portrayed as incompetent/inept. But I was too baffled by the decision by Leia to happily and selfishly allow the second most important leader in the resistance to stay behind and die to focus on those much on those issues during the film.Um didn’t Holdo tell Leia after Poe was stunned that she liked him being exactly who he was?

Oh i’m sorry did I just destroy the ongoing narrative here i’m sorry lol
Especially with all the stuff that they can read around the net, just as we do.
I hope they read all my posts here...I hope Kennedy's hitman Khev relays it all
