But then you missed the ending where after Holdo’s death Poe was in charge again and it was he alone that figured out Luke was stalling AND when everyone looked at Leia she said “Why are you all looking at me, FOLLOW HIM!” Follow Him as in MAN IN CHARGE!

Sure he might’ve been humbled a bit by Leia BUT that’s Leia in a nutshell always humbling men from Tarkin to Han to Lando and even Chewbacca (get that walking carpet out of my way!)

I had forgotten about that. . .which in the broader context of what happened between Poe/Leia/Dern makes no sense at all. Guy gets demoted for being brash and not following orders and being a good leader. Guy gets stun gunned for being brash, and not following orders or being a good soldier. Guy then become leader of the resistance. Maybe he did learn something through all of that. Maybe when he decided to pull back instead of rushing head on into certain death with Finn at the big cannon? Is that enough to demonstrate that he deserves to lead everyone now? Movie didn't do a great job of logically developing these threads IMO.

Disney-Lucasfilm’s “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” is showing plenty of force at mulitplexes worldwide with $745.4 million globally as of Sunday.

The North American take has hit $365 million in its first 10 days as of Sunday with the studio projecting another $32 million on Christmas Day on Monday — making it the third highest domestic release in 2017 following “Beauty and the Beast” with $504 million and “Wonder Woman” at $412 million.

“Stars Wars: The Last Jedi” has totaled $380.3 million in international box office. It is already the top grossing film of 2017 in both Denmark and Sweden and this fourth highest grosser in the overall European market. The U.K. is the top market with $67.4 million, followed by Germany with $40 million, France with $29.3 million and Australia with $26.9 million.

“The Last Jedi,” which picks up following the events of 2015’s “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” is so far the 87th highest worldwide grosser of all time, trailing 2016’s “Suicide Squad” by $1.4 million.

69% drop actually. As of now AOTC has the singular shame of being the only live-action SW to not be the highest grossing film of the year (it was 3rd behind Spider-Man and The Two Towers.) Will TLJ join it or will it still surpass Beauty and the Beast's $502 million domestic?

It should still easily pass $500 domestic but emasculated fanboys have done an impressive job of steering the narrative on this one so you never know...

If I helped in anyway to lower the Disney TLJ revenues I will be at peace and it will be remembered when I die and vanish on a rock..so proud to be an emasculated deplorable man

But - at the moment anyway - the 2017 BO has been so bad I'm not sure comparisons of past years mean a lot re:

Hollywood is celebrating the end of 2017 with astronomical sales from “Star Wars: The Last Jedi,” which is on track to soon exceed $1 billion in global ticket sales and eventually become the biggest movie of the year. But that won’t be enough to write a happy storyline for the industry.

Although movie ticket sales in the U.S. and Canada are expected to dip just below last year's record of $11.38 billion, the number of tickets sold is projected to drop 4% to 1.26 billion — the lowest level since 1995, according to preliminary estimates from studio executives.

The falloff in ticket sales can mostly be explained by a handful of movies that flopped, especially during the dreary summer season that posted the worst results in more than two decades. Even such massive hits as “Wonder Woman,” “Thor: Ragnarok” and “It” couldn’t make up for a lackluster summer lineup populated by rickety franchises (“Alien: Covenant”) and poorly reviewed retreads (“The Mummy”).

However, the long-term decline in attendance reflects systemic challenges facing the industry. Audiences are spending less time going to the movies and are consuming more entertainment on small screens and through streaming services such as Netflix and Amazon that are spending billions on original video content.

There's got to be a limit globally to how much any movie could possibly make; studios/media never act like there's an upper limit but there has to be???

:lol :lol :lol

I can’t even lol

Um didn’t Holdo tell Leia after Poe was stunned that she liked him being exactly who he was?

She never once said “You will go to jail until your behavior and inherit character traits are changed to be how I want you to be!”

No she told Leia that she liked him being who he was a much needed and appreciated spark.

Which i’m sure people will now point out that if she liked him like he was then why didn’t she trust him enough to just tell him her plan.

I don’t know about anyone here but i’ve been in plenty of situations where my superior officers have tested my character by keeping critical pieces of information from me or given me false information for their own motives or had me find out things on my own or just flat out said “need to know basis deal with it!”.

Sometimes my superiors would even show their dissatisfaction in the most round about mysterious way or even worse their appreciation in the most direct rude manner that left me scratching my head trying to figure out if I was being complimented or disciplined.

Not everyone gets everything they always want to know sometimes things are compartmentalized.

So yeah Poe was NOT emasculated by Holdo but if everyone wants to ignore her compliment about him then ok sure men suck.

Oh i’m sorry did I just destroy the ongoing narrative here i’m sorry lol

Sorry Jye... All you are doing is proving how stupid she is..

First off she talked about liking him as if he was a cute little puppy or a little boy..

Second.. THAT WAS NOT the time to be "testing his character by keeping critical pieces of information from him or given him false information for their own motives or had him find out things on his own or just flat out said “need to know basis deal with it!”. "

Their lives were on the line..

If your superiors did that to you when Lives were on the line... Well they are idiots also :lol

So I am fine with saying that Poe was not Emasculated.. But that does not make the storyline or Dern McPurple;s character any less stupid :lol

Adolfo is cracking me up.

That's it, that's it. I decree that Adolfo is the new Jye, or rather, Jye as he should be.

Instead of a gold toof, he a got a gold ring.

Sorry Jye, nothing personal. You've just become too much of a soy boy. Those who weep in favor of TLJ weep for corruption.

Apology not required i’m enjoying Adolfo as much as you are :lol

I have the resolve to be just like you to stab broom boy in the face in defiance of Disney but i’m on a journey of self discovery lol

My wife hated TLJ so your ring analogy might be slightly off lol

Those are the nicest words that anybody ever spoke to me since that chick I had in Manhattan back in 83 after watching ROTJ when she told me "not so hard, it hurts,God you're big"....I'm starting to choke up

Oh come on Khev... There are many more reasons for this film to be hurting then Emasculated fanboys.. I would say that particular issue is the least of the complaints this film has had directed at it.

One of the classes at West Point academy illustrates just how many bad decisions have been made in the history of war by people in charge during critical battles.
