I had issues with the story, but thought it was very well directed. In fact, that's one of the key elements that sets Last Jedi apart from the prequels. If the acting and direction were terrible, as they were in the prequels, then I wouldn't have enjoyed this film.


Yeah, I've been thinking some about this after all the, I suppose right-wing backlash I'm picking up on here? And regarding Poe, even though the resistance was small at that point, he had been demoted, and wasn't in a "need to know" situation. Superior officers aren't required to tell their subordinates why they are doing what they are doing, and in the majority of cases won't. So that's fine with me. But stepping back a bit, I can see that there may have been a larger agenda at play, given that the main protagonist, and all of the rebel leadership are female, while Poe and to a lesser extent Finn are portrayed as incompetent/inept. But I was too baffled by the decision by Leia to happily and selfishly allow the second most important leader in the resistance to stay behind and die to focus on those much on those issues during the film.

But then you missed the ending where after Holdo’s death Poe was in charge again and it was he alone that figured out Luke was stalling AND when everyone looked at Leia she said “Why are you all looking at me, FOLLOW HIM!” Follow Him as in MAN IN CHARGE!

Sure he might’ve been humbled a bit by Leia BUT that’s Leia in a nutshell always humbling men from Tarkin to Han to Lando and even Chewbacca (get that walking carpet out of my way!)

But then you missed the ending where after Holdo’s death Poe was in charge again and it was he alone that figured out Luke was stalling AND when everyone looked at Leia she said “Why are you all looking at me, FOLLOW HIM!” Follow Him as in MAN IN CHARGE!

yeah isn't the new trend that people make a percentage of the movies take? So even if it has made it money back the constant viewing decline hurts peoples wallets, not to mention stock holders. JJ has got a heaping pile of worm ridden **** to turn around, I hope his script is good.

Are you including the throne room fight scene in that?
Because I rewatched it on my computer out of curiosity and realized how bad it was. It left zero impression on me after I first saw the movie, and now I know why.

People complain about the choreographed fights in the PT but this looked just as choreographed to me, except it didn't have the speed and virtuosity. Just Rey screaming constantly.

It should also be noted that not ONE Force power was used, except I guess when Rey threw the saber to Kylo at the end.
The guards have partially resistant armors vs lightsaber blades, yet the other weapon they can't do anything against (Force powers) isn't used. Brilliant.

I applaud Kennedy for her role in producing TFA/RO/TLJ but she's far from infallible. She never should have greenlit Solo and there should be at *least* a three year break after Episode IX before any new SW films are released. I've never been on board with their "one movie a year forever" policy.

This sounds like the begining of ESB: Evading the evil First Order a group of rebels led by Poe Daemeron flees to a safe hiding place to continue to change this franchise forever!

I watch rebels and they were on a break till the new year due to plots points addressed in TLJ supposedly, what can they possible include from TLJ. Oh I hope its more woman power!

Episode IX is barely at the pre-production stage. They haven't shot anything yet.
