They don't have to stop making more. They can make whatever they want. But if you're fed up, like I am, we need to stop paying to see this garbage. I haven't paid since TFA. I still ended up seeing TLJ but only cause my friend bought me a ticket and insisted I go. So even though it wasn't my actual cash, I still ended up contributing to the box office. That's the last time.

Next time I will be more adamant that I don't want to waste my time with this nonsense anymore. I'll just download the camrip bootleg and skim through it to see if there are any cool parts, and that'll be it.

And that’s a perfectly fine mindset to have we all have our individual lines in the Anakin sand that we refuse to cross.

I’ll be the first to admit that I am using the ST as dressing for the deep emotional wounds the PT caused me.

Yeah that **** hurt real bad.

Time might heal emotional and physical wounds but they sure leave nasty scars behind.

Just like real medicine helps with one problem while creating new ones with their side effects for me the ST and RO alleviated some of the pain but are now causing new wounds.

Well OT SW is cool everyone will agree on that.

PT are mostly hated for a very good reason they’re poorly made films with bad writing, acting and poor use of cgi with a broken Anakin/ObiWan narrative. That was them being good friends, really. The PT are not hated because Lucas was making it up as he went along although i’m sure that didn’t help either.

The Lucas can’t do no wrong PT diehards were obviously going to turn against the ST that was a given, time for revenge.

The Disney corporation diehard haters were obviously going to turn against the ST that was a given.

The current majority rulers of the land were obviously going to turn against a Kennedy with agenda helmed Lucasfilm that was a given.

I can look at new SW 2 ways.

1. Stop making them because I will never accept them especially if by Disney and especially if by a female lead Lucasfilm with an agenda and I will show my anger to the world.

2. Keep making them who cares because even if they suck they will never ruin the OT so why not keep trying maybe a great one will be squeezed out.

Then you have to cool fans like me

We got it with RO and missed it by a lot with TFA and TLJ

PT movies are goofy and the acting is overall horrible. I had written them off at one point and tried to erase them from my memory. Watched them again earlier this year and found them to be not all bad. Still if these films did not have SW in the title they
1. would have never made it past episode one and
2. I would never even think about watching them again.

This video demonstrates in less than 2 minutes how ****ing terrible TLJ is. You apply the same basic story to its equivalent in the OT, what's considered by many to be the greatest SW movie, and it annihilates it

Meh, I have a lot of issues with the PT but still love huge parts of them (so call me a Lucas diehard), yet had zero intention of hating anything Disney Star Wars was gonna do. I love Star Wars, I don't care where it comes from, I just want great movies and more lore to dream about.

These generalizations work under the assumption that to fans, where Star Wars comes from matters more than the quality of the movies. I think that's an incredibly small minority.

Like many people said, the agenda doesn't even really matter as long as the movies are great. TLJ missed the mark on that last part. No one would care about Holdo if the movie had been as epic as it should have been, had used Luke properly, offered proper lightsaber scenes, didn't have a giant useless story arc, etc...

100% spot on.

While I never read the EU stuff beyond general synopses I do wish Disney had picked up elements like Mara Jade and the Solo twins, even with different names. It seems like it would have been a more optimistic and family-friendly approach (Disney's specialty) to have had Luke find love, gotten married, fathered a child or two and experienced years of happiness before eventually losing everything; and for Han and Leia to have raised twins before one eventually turned to the dark side (which could have still been Snoke). However, it's possible they may have wanted to avoid having various writers coming out from the woodwork (books, comics, fan fiction) wanting either monetary compensation or writing credit for any "ideas" they felt were ripped off. That may well be part of the murkiness and pitfalls of having 30+ years of unsanctioned narrative.

hilarious!! ironically, that final salt planet scene was the equivalent of rubbing SALT in the wounds created by this sh** show KK and RJ made us suffer through
