if we are talking money and box office then those Joel Schumacher movies were very sucessful

Batman_Forever_poster.png

Budget $100 million

Box office $336.5 million

220px-Batman_%26_robin_poster.jpg

Budget $125 million

Box office $238.2 million
]

these two were not flops by any means, Batman Forever was actually very profitable. Every person going "THE LAST JEDI IS MAKING A BILLION!!!!" to defend it is missing the point......
it is not about the money alone.... a lot of people went to see Batman Forever and Batman and robin in theaters... they made money....

spiderman had the same situation:

220px-Spider-Man_3%2C_International_Poster.jpg

Budget $258 million
Box office $890.9 million

by all means Spiderman 3 was a giant success and it should have gotten a sequel right? i mean, if the only thing that matters is box office like the Last Jedi apologists say, then Spiderman 3 was an amazing movie that did extremely well and would have gotten a fourth sequel for sure....

right?

right?....

You’re not looking at the bigger picture.

Marvel didn’t want Spiderman to continue soley under Sony no matter how much SM3 earned they wanted him and his surrounding characters folded back into the larger brand plus whatever other drama was going on with Avi.

But good try though I know you always swing for the fences but a single is nothing to be ashamed of lol.

I just realized you are in France :lol you could get arrested for talking about some of this stuff :lol:lol

:lol

I don't even know people like that in real life, I only see those crazy blog writers online, scary stuff though.

This is at least the third video I see of a girl who kinda falls into the "cliché" SJW/feminist type, yet could see right through Kennedy and Johnson's BS. Warms my heart.

That's likely true of course. But it would be nice to make Rey a little more interesting was the point. Then again, this is a fantasy for children so the idea of making a complicated adult character is probably just desires from me getting older.

I do think they should’ve shown Rey as a death stick junkie having to prostitute to support her habit lol

She'd make a hot whore. Sorry, she would.

No need for an apology she absolutely would.

While DiFabio was puking over her Mr. Ed mouth and flat body I was calling my wife Rey while giving her my porg and squeezing her milk factory like Luke hanging out with Immortan Joe on a cliff side.

I agree that Disney just wants to sell a princess but you are greatly mistaken if you think everyone with a bad life is a nut case just because they don’t have the luxaries of modern life found in first world countries.

I’ve met many men and women living in the worst conditions possible with more happiness and mental fortitude and stability than some of the wealthiest families i’ve interacted with.

The suicide % were much higher in wealthy neighborhoods here in the states than the slums I worked at.

I handled more alcoholism, heroin and prescription pill overdoses at wealthy homes then I did in the slums.

Sure there are rich and poor nut cases everywhere but i’ve seen first hand the resiliency and soul building strength that also comes from being born in a hard life.

Believe it or not Wor but there are real life Rey’s out there.

Go look up the suicide % in super modern first world Japan or in some of those beautiful and exclusive northern european countries.

I agree with you. In my experience, wealthy neighborhoods are filled with isolated, socially detached people who seem broken emotionally. The need for community is a human thing. I grew up in a poor neighborhood surrounded by friends and family, and currently live in one of the wealthiest areas of Canada. People living in my new neighborhood are tactless, and many of them are bizarre in how petty they can be. Depression is rampant. It poses a real dilemma for me, because I'd rather not live in the circumstances I overcame, but I'm not happy living in a community of disconnected people.

However, I think the problem with Rey as a character is that there's no character arc, because she's perfect at the onset. It's boring. Also, there's a subtext (a vague one, but it's there) that knowledge from the past isn't as important as the stuff inside you. That's absurd. You learn by challenging, and eventually annihilating your own perceptions of the world. Learning involves needing to detach your identity from your perceptions of the world, and being able to change your mind in the face of new evidence.

To learn, you have to acknowledge your own fallibility. Narcissism makes people dumber. You can take an intelligent person, and make them dumb by rewarding them, telling them how clever and special they are. That's exactly what's happening to an entire generation of people. They're being made dumber, through excessive validation. Rey encapsulates this.

I’m just showing Khev that I got this he can enjoy his time in the bluray thread talking about The Dark Crystal 4K conversion as long as he wants :lol

Gelflings in 4K :monkey4

Bet you can see the shoddy stitching in those muppets in 4k.

Yup Sony sure did.

But there was a huge legal civil war going on behind the scenes over ownership and egos.

Spider-Man 4 wasn't made only because Raimi didn't want to make another Spider-Man 3 tho.
He left because he didn't like not having full control over script and production.

Exactly. She is a carefuly constructed image meant to sell a brand to little girls. And kids hate their main characters having faults. So she gets to be perfect.

Even when she get injured in TLJ, its a tiny, perfectly symmetrical scar with just the right size and placement to make her look even cooler. They were never ever going to have her lose a limb like Luke. That wouldn't fit with her princess image.
