How many companies do you know that have gone backwards in pricing? Even if the economy hits like the 1920s where we've got a state of decadence I seriously doubt they'll suddenly go "Let's sell $80 figures instead of the $120 like we've been doing." The increases might cease and that is a big might because they might want to take advantage of folks having more money but the days of under $80 for a figure a long gone.

None that I can think of as far collecting goes. You see price drops in electronics but thats it probably. I meant that as more we might I should have worded it better.

Does Sideshow sell Disney in the parks? If not, why not?

No, they don't.

Be hard for me to imagine folks wanting to carry a huge, 20+ pound box back with them from vacation along with all their other crap. But it probably would make some sense to have statues on display there with an internet hook-up or catalog for having an order shipped.

There are plenty of large objects that are sold in the parks. Big figs, which are about the same height, but wider and deeper than PF's, for instance.

Like Devil said, you can have it shipped back home and there are plenty of locals who will buy stuff. Even if they don't sell them in the parks, Disney Store would be a good place to sell them.

If I recall sideshow had pieces for sale in universal at the terminator attraction. Would make sense to sell the pfs in the parks.

I would think Sideshow makes enough on distributing Hot Toys product alone to keep the doors open, lol. While it may take a little longer for things to sell out with the NRD, pieces still seem to sell out, and that's all that matters. Not every piece is going to go gangbusters and sellout the first few days it's available, especially some 2nd and 3rd tier characters.

2 examples: Silver Surfer and Morgul Lord. These pieces were given hell by a lot of collectors, and it did take a while to sell out, compared to previous releases, but now that they're gone? Morgul Lord Excl. is already on the rise on the secondary market.

Anyone who thinks Sideshow has a financial 'problem' isn't really paying attention. SS is putting out probably 3 times the product they were just a few years back, and the majority of it is still selling out. That's quite a bit of incoming cash. I think SS will be fine.

A company who is having a lot of problems wouldn't give away quite as many free pieces, would they? I realize they can claim them as a loss and all, but they are VERY generous. I don't know enough about the business side and claiming, etc. So I can't say for sure.

I feel like the newsletters a tad small and don't hold my interest. But that's for me. Many other collectors may have a list in each. I'm just waiting for the Buffy stuff.

Well, there is a cost to keeping items in inventory too. If it doesn't sell out fast it makes sense to give it away, just to get it out of inventory.

Me too. I personally hate the NRD, but I do think it's a good idea. I hate it because I'm one of those people that order pretty stuff in the reveals only to cancel it later down the road once it lost some of it's luster.

:lecture:lecture:lecture
I also suffer from this...But my problem is that I pre-order things and then find it cheaper locally later and can't cancel. This is the biggest issue purchasing internationally.

Could be, but the really funny thing is that the Wolverine PF is available on Disneystore.com. :lol

I know, there is a bunch of other Marvel stuff on the site as well as in the parks these days. I just think it is odd that Wolverine PF is on the disneystore.com, but not the Evil Queen, Maleficent, Jack Sparrow, etc.
