The fact that it isnt that scary is why the movie is going to succeed so much...

U guys dont get it, if this was terrifying then not so many families would have gone to see it.

Please. It's not scary to us adults but showing this to a five year old would scare the **** out of them.

Watched it in IMAX, enjoyed it immensely. The kids were the life and soul of the film and had great chemistry. I wouldn't say it's 'scary' so much as it is nope nope nope creepy and unsettling in parts. That's good enough for me I guess.

So how many were aware there's a post-credits tease? Doesn't sound like much but I wish I saw it myself. :slap

IT: Post-Credits Tease Explained

These days, it's impossible for a horror movie to scare me. So I know, going in, I'm not going in for the scares. I'm going in to see how visually creative it can be and how good the performances are. In that, this movie succeeded.

I thought the kids did very well. They all had really good chemistry and acted better than some adults from other horror films that came out this year...

Pennywise was great, I do wish he had more screen time, but he's in it more than some folks are suggesting. I'd say it's comparable to Hopkins in Silence of the lambs. so about 15 minutes total screen time...but that's clown form, He appears quite a bit more actually...just in different forms.

Of course, I wish they CGIed less. Bill has really great body language informing the character, and they need to give him more scenes to chew on and move through. The scenes where he interacted with the environment and spoke were really well done.

I think certain aspects could have been done with practical effects.
The scene where his face opens up to reveal the deadlights would have been awesome if it was a practical effect. If this film was actually made in the 80's it would have been, and been done really well. Having said that, the CGI OF that scene did look great...so it didn't bother me too much.

Where they did use practical effects, it was great! It was cool to see Javier Botet employed again as yet another freakish form of Pennywise.

It's a cool horror film. It doesn't reinvent the wheel. but it's fun. It's not scary unless you're one of those people who love to announce what you're afraid of saying "omg clowns scare me so much...like I can't even omg let me snapchat me getting scared lolol hashtag payattentiontome" :lol

long story short
It's visually interesting with great performances. Das eet.

Hope people aren't taking kids to this, this would have scared the poop out of my kids.

Some of the reviews on youtube talked about kids in the screening,
Also Grace video talked about families showing up.

I actually still get scared with good ghost-demons-witches movies

I can say the last movie to give me something close to real fear was "The Witch", but the best way I can describe it was an uncomfortable negative energy. The movie stuck in my thoughts for a few weeks and it felt weird. :lol I unno.

Yeah same here just because it involved a baby plus you know Satan goat raping a teen girl lol

Sinister was another...that is until the silly climax when the kids showed up.

Ummm, being creeped out sometimes is as fun and frightening as being scared.

:lol yeah...

A while back, I was babysitting my three nephews (ages 10,7, and 4) I took them to a local pier to get them outside and get them lunch. We went to one of the little food kiosks to grab some fish sticks and fries. I found the picnic table closest to the kiosk and had them sit there. I told the ten year old "watch your brothers okay...don't let him (the youngest) run around".

I walked the five feet from the table to the ordering window, glanced back to the kids, saw they were fine and turned back to order. Order placed (why are fishsticks so expensive), turned back around, and saw a slouching, older man, wearing a blue hat, covering ear length gray hair, talking to my three nephews at the table. My heart went nuts and I flew over there.

I acted hostile right off the bat saying, "hey...can I help you?..." The man responded by saying "oh uuh yeah, I was just wondering if they knew where the bathroom is" At this point I was like...hell no..."there are plenty of other people...ADULTS here you can ask that question...go" I said. "alright man ****" and off he went. I kept those kids glued to my side for the rest of the day.

That freaked me the **** out :lol

So the witch kidnapping the baby...and luring the boy creeped me out big time. That aspect of "don't talk to strangers" definitely hits people differently and probably hits parents the most. And with that said, the Georgie scene in this movie did transport me back to my "pier experience" briefly. But I think because I'm so familiar with Pennywise and the sequence of events as well the stylistic nature of the whole film, it didn't stick as hard as The Witch.

In summation...Your Witch Kanata and Kennucas sig is way scarier...:lol

I wasn't scared of the Witch tbh. i don't know. I guess some parts were very unsettling but it didn't scare me I can't remember when a horror movie scared me. I think Paranormal activity 3 scared me a bit towards the end with the witches coming out from various places. But Yea IT isn't a scary movie but it's damn good and creepy. Like a fun type horror movie. Like being in a haunted house at an amusement park scary. Love it.

There should be a ban on jye watching horror films so he can't get any more disturbing ideas for his photo edits. :rotfl

Hey man I really had to go that day. Those kids looked like they knew where stuff was.

Me, personally, I'm such a scaredy cat that the only horror film I've watched apart from the classics, is the Woman In Black Remake, which I went to see in the theatres, so... yeah. Kids being tough enough to see Horror films in the cinema just boggles my mind. Guess they're made of sterner stuff than me.

Yea I usually hate seeing horror movies in the theater. Tbh I don't like horror movies that much. I enjoy the old school type ones to the newer ones but this movie was just well done. It was a very well told horror movie. Usually horror movies just play it straight forward and do all the cliches but the fact that this movie had kids fighting the monster and it could change into anything was cool

Eh, IT seems a bit more "safe" so I may end up seeing it on BR, but dunno, I can't do Horror.

I figured it was either you or SNIKT. Glad to see my instincts haven't suffered too much in my old age :lol

I hated that movie

:lol. I won't fault anyone for disliking that movie. Its a tough sell. I actually watched that movie with my wife and my mom. They both hated me afterwards :lol
