Wow, that's insane about IT beating Lego Ninjago. The Lego movies have gotten stale fast, but still. I'm glad this did so well.

'my social media is haunted' trash, IT feels like a breath of fresh air.

Can't they just blocc the demons?

Sheesh thats absolutly insane but as someone else said this movie feels like a breath of fresh air from the other horror movies we've been getting. I got sick of the found footage crap fast and the cliche teen angst nonsense. I miss monster movies. All we've been getting is haunted house movies lately.

Well, Ninjago was crap from the first trailer and Kingsmen are worthless.
I'm actually surprised that an ok modern horror film is more successful...

I'm okay with that as well, the only problem is I feel the film is extremely overblown with praise.

I'm watching for the 1990 version and within the second scene you see Curry, I feel he's far better than Skarsguard... even if he's in a cheesy TV mini series.

Nope. When I watch 90's version I see Tim Curry playin' jobless Krusty the Clown.
Skarsguard felt like the character and was actually creepy. He's Ledger's Joker of IT.

But yeah, right now this movie is pretty overrated. It wasn't great, no pun intended.

This might be the most successful and critically aclaimed horror movie of the past 20 years. Cant recall another remake that was this loved or successful.

Most remakes are either crap OR even if they are good, the horror community rejects them only for being a remake.

This is like an anomaly
Horror fans are NEVER this welcoming

:rotfl c'mon. I really feel if it was a film and not the direct to TV hell hole it would of been more of a classic.

And no, he's not Ledger. The dude barely spoke. He's Michael Myers or Jason that happens to talk a little. He's carried by the CGI entirely.

For a movie released in Fall and likely won't gross more than 600-700M worldwide, seems like this is the movie that will be most remembered for the Summer of 2017.

It's funny, because his strongest scenes have no CGI. His little dance towards Eddie is better than the contortion crawl from the fridge.

One of the few FX moments I liked, was how they kept focus on his face whenever he rushed towards someone. Everything else would blur except his face. I thought that was a neat effect.

Since the original was a TV movie, I dont consider this to be a remake.

Even in this shallow pool most of the crticism is coming from members who are more worried about the uniqueness of their haircut and their apostrophe quota. And Snake, so that's a fair crit. Still a pretty great reception for the gallows section.
