I disagree. I was at Target yesterday and watched the scalper frenzy unleash on Mattel Hogan figures. Now is the time to capatalize on a Hogan release.

Yeah, this Pop Vinyl which is a "common" was selling on Amazon for $8. It was at some retailers for clearance, now all of a sudden after this thing it was #1. People are snapping up Hogan stuff, people think there is a "flipping" opportunity on this right now. Storm Collectibles could also take advantage of that.

For me it's pretty much like this. You have to separate the entertainer from their persona. Terry Bollea isn't a good guy, even if it was out of sorts, he isn't kind of racist, he is racist. But Hulk Hogan was a persona. It's no different than Michael Jackson issue with HT. People can buy a figure of Michael Jackson because they loved his music but don't necessarily support or enforce what he does with his personal life. Hulk Hogan was a big part of my childhood, he was the WWF for a long time and that is kind where this is hitting. I couldn't give a crap about Terry Bollea the guy who is doing quick loan commercials or has a weird fascination with his daughter and who know is apparently also really racist.

Everyone needs to just calm down and support interracial relationships.
After another 30years... Whos gonna care then?
Lol

But seriously I feel pity for silly matters like these and the people involved. I mean it's 2015 people. We all should be past this and stop letting our former generations influence us.

Great executed figure by Storm toys. I hope it's bigger than this one and we see other great wrestlers as well.

When you're a celebrity you pretty much lose your right to privacy, I think they all know that comes with the territory. That's the price of being rich and famous unfortunately. I can't feel bad for a guy who got caught making racist remarks though, whether it's fair to him or not. All the horrible stuff he said outweighs his privacy in my opinion. I think most people should be relieved this got leaked because I'm sure he had a bunch of black fans that now know what he thinks about them.

To me there's nothing worse than a racist making money off the very people he hates, or feels superior too.

Deserves a repost. When you become a public figure, particularly in our ever increasingly less private social media driven world, the line between public & private becomes about as water tight as a sieve.

The idea that gaining celebrity/wealth equals a loss in the right to privacy is flawed which is why the post got buried to begin with. :lol

So you basically think celebrities don't deserve the same rights as everyone else? Wow.

I would agree that part of celebrity is to lose a significant amount of privacy. If he wanted privacy he should have been a car salesman or lay asphalt and no one would care about his "private" racist moments.

It sounds like you're very jealous of celebrities, so much so that you've rationalized this idea that it's ok to violate their privacy in order for Joe Public to get a little closer to them.

So, since they are richer and more famous than you, you think they deserve no privacy rights? Now, to an extent, you are somewhat saying Joe Schmo can go on a racist rant as much as he wants cause he is Joe Schmo... or as you put it "car salesman." Huh.

Lets put a hidden camera and mic in your home and see how you feel.

You reposted what i wrote. Now re read it. Slowly.

I never said i agreed with it or that it was right or wrong. Gaining celebrity means a large piece of your private life will be sacrificed. Thats just life and tthe price you pay. And there are THOUSANDS of people who would jump on that bandwagon in a moment. If you want anonomity, do something where no one cares who you are. You'll have all the privacy in the world.

Anonymity and privacy are two very different things.

Good point. I agree the words are not synonyms.

But the only reason why this was taped in the first place is because he's a celebrity.
The only reason why it was released is because he's a celebrity.
The only reason why anyone cares is because he's a celebrity.
And the only reason why we are discussing it right now is because hes a celebrity.

This kind of crap comes witb the territory.

If he was terry the waiter at applebees, a total of 4 ppl would care what he had to say. And no one would have recorded it in the first place.
Is being recoded secretly cool? No.

It was sealed in a court order and was leaked, and the popular opinion is that it was leaked by Gawker who Hogan is suing and going to trial with later this year. This leak may cost Gawker upwards of $100million. Hulk Hogan sex tape trial could destroy Gawker - Jun. 17, 2015

It was not 'released', and wasn't released b/c he happens to be a celebrity.

It was leaked b/c Gawker is trying to smear him. His status of being a celebrity has nothing to do with it. Much like anonymity has nothing to do with privacy.
