Does the bomb show not realise that metal wire is obviously going to break if you continually bend it like that in quick succession?
It builds up heat, becomes soft, and snaps. It will be fine if you don't bend it so quickly, as to not build up heat.
I knew it was metal wire when I first posed it and I think it's good design. It does the job perfectly.
The only problem with this figure is the rubber skin.
I can't believe he thinks it's a bad thing to not have feet inside the boots lol

Having one in my detolf, and checking in on the thread from time to time over reaction is a theme that does the rounds if your a tyson fan you need to see this in hand, sensible posing and you got a serious shelf stealer, the body not perfect but it is as important as the sculpt for the overall look thats achieved, with the right light and shade its near perfect.

What good is it if in a few weeks, its going to fall apart? Id be livid paying this much for a fig and then possibly having it fall apart? Hell no

Mmh... Hey Chockles, just wondering, could you ask Storm Collectibles if they might be willing to resell the damaged bodies for low? Despite the damaged arms it does still look incredible.

Haha I have tried this before on the first day of preordering as well as after picking up the figure.

Sadly it ain't happening. I also wanted a second body or if they are willing to sell them as spares with new packaging etc.

Just not something they want to do.

If I took an arm or leg of any of my Hot Toys figures, and bent them back and forth at that pace, that many times... they probably won't snap, but they would likely be loose as hell, and have a hard time holding poses after that. I don't believe that any figure should be treated that way. I agree with the frustration that it's not actually new technology, but as others have said, the real concern is the rubber skin, not the joints (in my opinion).
It is also fair to say that once bent, you can never get those joints perfectly straight again. Over many years, that could possibly impact the ability of the figure to stand due to the weight, but the rubber also supports the joints.
He looks amazing though, as figures go...

By the way, does anyone have any pics of what's under the rubber of other newer figures (Hot Toys Commando for example?). I'd be curious as to see the joints under there as well...

Like others have said, I wish the Da Bomb Show review/rant would have done the stress test on the joints (with the rubber body on). I don't believe he mentioned anything about the quality of the rubber body but I'm surmising it was implied of it being of poor quality.

I find the Da Bomb Show reviews quite honest - he and Wendy point out both the positive and negative of a figure/statue, whereas some are overly positive. They are also one of the few reviewers that derobe and take apart the figure down to the bare body (which is usually not recommended by the manufacturer). It's nice that they do it so that we as collectors don't have to - their reviews add value because at least we know what material and bodies go into making these figures.

I watched both the Clipper King and Da Bomb Show videos on Tyson and find both make valid points and defended their positions well... but at the heart of the issue is that Storm should be held accountable for not enough quality assurance before releasing the figure. This hobby is normally a friendly and tight-knit community, so it's kind of shame that some collectors are now attacking each other's integrity.

Are the Clipper King and Budget Stark still friends?

I couldn't tell who the Clipper King was referring to in his Tyson video but he mentioned he was questioning whether there was a real friendship between he and a HK person who he had been buying figures from, where there was a finder's fee involved. At first I thought he might have been referring to Budget Stark but I found that'd be odd since I thought they were good friends - there was a video recently where Clipper King hosted Budget Stark at his home in the UK.

You know, Sabin, I was thinking the same thing. I and most of us would not have any idea who Budget Stark is if it wasn't for Clipper. If he is still charging him a finder's fee, and I'm not saying that he is, then I guess that would be a little much. I agree with your points about Da Bomb Show and Clipper; they are probably the 2 most honest reviewers out there. Much respect to Jay, the reason why he kept saying how big of a Mike Tyson fan he is was to illustrate how upset he is at how bad the figure turned out. He sacrificed a 250.00 figure, which I have yet to see any other "reviewer" do, so the fans can be warned. Them actually taking every figure apart to illustrate the body and POA underneath is a service to the fellow collectors out there. They have received a lot of heat for their Tyson video but they should be commended for it. There are far too many fake reviewers out there who are not doing reviews, just overviews of the figures they, um, receive. Like Jay said, they don't take the time to tell you if it is worth buying, just what it comes with, were they got it and to like, comment and subscribe. It's not like video game reviewers where they receive their samples for free and still give an honest, often damning, review. Maybe they are just more confident in their craft.

new vid by bomb show. responds to the heat last vid got and shows a mod to non-wire joints

Well, he did a great job moding the figure. Shouldn't be necessary, but well, it is what it is. I liked the tutorial, very informative. Nevertheless, I only purchased the grimacing HS and shorts and will add to my V 2 Storm Toys Tyson.

All that work for a figure he's not planning to pose .....

Makes no difference if it has the default wire joints, or his custom joints, if that's going to be the case. Honestly, I don't see that mod as an upgrade. Range of motion seems more limited now, & I'm guessing it wouldn't hold poses as well either, because of the rubber pushing back to it's relaxed position. Seems like a downgrade to me.

I'm thinking he simply wanted to fix his figure after he calmed down, since he obviously likes a good chunk of it.

From BBTS? & did you cancel yesterday? Because I think I might have snagged that cancelled Olympic Tyson. I've been refreshing that page regularly trying to get it, once I saw it was sold out. I pre ordered, cancelled, pre ordered, cancelled, & then managed to order it again :lol

Arggh , why would you guys pick up a figure that
is going to fall apart ? Maybe you guys are willing
to fix it I guess
