Re: Stranger Things (netflix show)

There's your problem, GoT isn't a perfect show by any stretch of the imagination, I love GoT, but it's not perfect, and this is one or 2 notches below GoT.

I also like this show, the only one who straight doesn't like it is Jye.

And Jye likes Bayformers.

Which is also respectable tbh.

That’s why I said “just about.” :lol

And the Bayformers movies have to be some of the dumbest **** ever released.

Re: Stranger Things (netflix show)

Eh, Transformers is dumb fun, which makes for great relaxation if you want something to take your mind off things. I mean, folks waste 20 hrs on each season of Flash and LoT. Compared to that, the 3hrs of TF per 2 years is nothing. I found "The Last Knight" entertaining, and at the end of the day, that's what matters when it's 23:00 and you've just got done with your work, whatever that is.

As for "perfect shows", that's a tough cookie, since nothing is perfect, but I, personally, wouldn't even dare to think Stranger Things or GoT are anywhere near that. I enjoy them, like I do other shows, but for something to be "perfect", it has to be "more" than just a tv show with good acting and an interesting story.

Re: Stranger Things (netflix show)

What's the 'more' then?

Cinematography, subject matter, no stretched plotlines that are full with filler, tight scripts, chemistry between the cast, the abillity to stand the test of time. I would be lying if I said personal bias doesn't play a role, but you need more than just decent actors, an entertaining story and good effects to produce something truly timeless and near perfect.

Re: Stranger Things (netflix show)

There's so very little on TV these days worth watching that I don't blame him.

Re: Stranger Things (netflix show)

So looks like you watch.....nothing.

I never implied that. Just from my sig it's obvious I watched Mad Men, for example. But really, I watch tons of stuff. Some I enjoy, some I simply like, others I think are close to "perfect". Currently I'm following: Arrow, Lucifer, Brooklyn 9-9, Expanse, Gifted, Walking Dead, Gotham, Mr. Robot, The Good Place and Ducktales. I've dropped about as many as well. Meanwhile I'm catching up on older shows like: West Wing, Newsroom, Sopranos, Rome, Peaky Blinders, X-Files, Twillight Zone and Star Trek: TOS. Most I watch simply because they're enjoyable, but I wouldn't call them perfect.

If you ask me, the only stuff I've watched that I'd qualify as near perfect, are Mad Men, The Young Pope, and maybe Black Sails. Verdict's still out on Sopranos, since I haven't finished it yet. If we went through my backlog, I could come up with other shows I greatly enjoyed, like Broadchurch, Breaking Bad, Twin Peaks or True Detective. Mr. Robot I could see becoming a modern classic.

Either way, point is, for something to be "perfect", it has to be more than a show I put on, enjoy watching and wanna see where it goes. It'll probably be different for each person, it's just that for me, ST or GoT aren't that. Memes aside, I don't condemn anybody for an opinion, I'm just sharing mine. It's just that mine is inherently superior to all others... :monkey3 /s

Being from Indiana and still living in Indiana i sure don't appreciate the negativity you're throwing our way.

What’s it like there ? I bet it’s like a vast field of potatoes as far as the eye can see!

Re: Stranger Things (netflix show)

countdown before they announce a spin off.

Well, this went TWD quick...

Think I don't want to finish it now...

Darth Waller was saying that a few pages back. This was them testing the waters for a spin-off. But since 100% of everyone hated that episode, it probably won't happen.

Nah finish it. It's a bottle episode. Once it's over it's over and Kali never shows up again. Except as a context flashback. The last two episodes take you back to the good stuff.
