Yeah, Guile was one of my favorites in SFII, but in SFIV he feels to sluggish not as quick. But if you play him right he is a bad mofo, what am i saying any character can be a bad mofo.

Guile players are the same as they've always been. Those low kicks, booms and flashes to keep you out of the air. To me this game isn't really to much different then it's ever been outside the graphics and their whimpy little ^^^^^ voices lol

damn it... I was playing against a not so great guy, and his connection was making me mess up the timing for all my moves and counters. I lost 124 BP because of it. Stupid lag. >_<

I've had that happen a few times...it sucks especially cause it gives them an advantage. For the most part the connections are really good!

Finally concentrated on it and unlocked all the characters! Gouken is cool and has some unique variations of the typical Shoto-character moves. Some of them remind me of moves from MvC2 (Ken's hurricane kick) and Third Strike (Shin Shoryuken).

I wish there sometimes was a little more difference for some characters for the super combo and the ultra combo. Why does Ryu have a Super and Ultra Hadoken? Mix it up a little!

Yeah, it would have been nice if each person's super and ultra were more unique (C. Viper has a nice difference between the two). I also don't like how some characters' ultras aren't as cinematic as others (again, another look at C. Viper, but the worst offender is probably Blanka, who's shave roll is ridiculously boring to look at).

I think the new characters have the best Ultra Combo animations because the developers weren't limited to the design history and legacy of the characters (like they were with oldies like Ryu, Ken, etc), they had the opportunity to be more creative in that regard. I agree, C. Viper has one awesome Ultra, and so does El Fuerte.

Actually, my favorite is Dan's Ultra -- I chuckle every time I see it, even if I'm on the receiving end.

I friggin hate people that play as sagat, ryu and ken and just fireball the whole match! It is soo frustrating :monkey2

I have yet to play as sagat or ken online, but when/if i play as ryu i actually try to fight and not just fireball. But Ive delt with alot of people that like to do that though, thankfully the connections were bad and the game was lost (they dont need a win by cheap tactics).

I love when those Ryu players use fireballs against me especially when i'm balrog. I have a nice little surprise waiting for them. I don't think it's a cheap tactic at all. I think it's weak and very easy to get around.

You don't need to suck to take advantage of the Revenge meter. For example, if you use the Focus attack to absorb hits you can charge up your Revenge meter without taking damage. Look, Ma...strategy. :D

Ok, so what was your point there? You still get a gripe of meter for taking hits. You still take damage when in FA, you just slowly recover it...but if you get hit, you lose the recovery damage (meter).

Do tell me this tactic :naughty

Also I thought you guys would definately know the answer to this! I scored a madcatz fight stick on ebay (regular one) anyone know if its any good? Also is the tournament edition limited? Or will shops restock them?

I said this about the Mad Catz SFIV Standard Edition stick a little while back:

Yeah, that's all very true. But most people would be fine with the stock buttons on the SE. The joystick is the real issue.

To answer Sniper33's question without sidetracking to the TE -- There is a high number of people who've been experiencing problems with the SE. Mad Catz claims that it's an isolated problem and only a small percentage of SE owners have complained about the issue, but generally the belief is that if one stick left the manufacturer in that condition, 99% of the succeeding sticks will also share that defect.

The second I grabbed my SE stick (don't make that obvious joke), I knew I was going to encounter the defect, so I ordered parts to mod it myself instead of sending it to Mad Catz for repair.

Bottom line is, if you intend to switch out the joystick, the SE is a fine accessory to have, and its price compared to the Hori stuff out there is pretty competitive (price of parts included). What can I say? I really like the turbo button.

As for the tourney edition stick, I'm not sure if it has a limited run, but it's very difficult to find one at retail now.

I finally had time to play with the TE stick. Honestly, I rather use the fightpad. I actually got used to the fightpad. What throws me off on the TE fightstick is the 8 buttons.

That's the risk you take. If someone is spamming fireballs, you can use this to charge up your meter.

Does anyone here use El Fuerte? Darnit he's difficult to use effectively. It also doesn't help that he takes a lot of damage.
