Maybe this has been on here before, but does anyone have any tips against Blanka? His saumersault rolling attack is just as confusing as Bison's flying fist, and are his Ultra and Supers unblockable? I've never managed to block them.. I just jump over him but that too could be quite tricky.

I've found Blanka to be one of my toughest opponents on live.. that title belonged to Akuma but I've played enough of them with 'Rog to get around the constant string of fireballs..

Any tips?

I believe if he's doing his super right next to you, you have to first block low, then after it goes up, it'll hit again twice--block high, then low, and keep blocking low.

I used to have a lot of trouble with Blanka players when I tried to attack full force (as to prevent him from doing his attacks), but I learned that's a definite no-no. Just get used to how his attacks hit, watch for the warning signs of when he's charging his attacks, and stay defensive and learn how to block and counter his moves, as they leave him extremely open when misses.

That's a very sound strategy... thanks a lot! I'll be adopting that for sure... Had no idea it hits low, high, then low all the way. How's a normal fighter supposed to block that :lol

Plus I bet the chip damage is pretty grim...

Street Fighter IV Championship Mode Due Next Week
Written Friday, April 17, 2009 by Dan Webb

Capcom today announced that the Championship mode for Street Fighter IV will drop next Friday, April 24th and it won't cost you a penny. Championship mode gives players the chance to compete in tournaments and to watch replays of the best tournament matches.

"Championship Mode offers you the chance to compete in five different grades of tournaments, creating the right challenge for players of every skill level. You’ll score Grade Points (GP) for tournament wins, and as your GP total grows, you’ll become eligible to enter into more exclusive tournaments. Winning tournaments will also net you Championship Points (CP). CPs are like “prize money” up for grabs in the tournament. The higher the GP skill of the players in a particular tournament, the bigger the CP prize!"

"The Replay Mode allows you to select and watch the best Championship Mode tournament matches. On Xbox Live, you can choose to download and save your favourite replays to study the players’ techniques. You’ll also be able to turn on the input commands from both players to be able to review their button and joystick motions in precise detail."

Street Fighter IV's Championship mode will be available for download on April 24th.

I am ashamed to admit that I can't pull off the "Fake kick" in Sagat's first trial. Anybody have any insight? :banghead
