coming out faster shouldnt make a difference unless he's hitting me before my hit frames come out. but even when the edge of my foot is about to hit him (my sweep fully extended) he still hits me or trades with me at the very least.

Im sort of convinced that to efficiently beat a decent to good Balrog player, you need to use FA well.

plasmid are you on ps3 or 360?

Because it comes out faster and can be linked easily. Balrog's crouch jab is one of his best tools in battle, every good Boxer takes advantage of it.

I don't have problems against Rog because I use Abel primarily. Most good Rogs I play against are defensive and rightly so, and Abel has no problem against that. Marseilles Roll -> Tornado Throw.

You do know balrog owns Able for free? His jab is his bread n butter, it's a little too good, esp if he has full rage meter o_O

Actually, according to majority opinion on SRK Rog isn't a bad matchup for Abel. I've fought so many Rogs that it has become predictable.

Also, EX Tornado Throw overtakes Rog's jabs.

Rog: cr.lp -> headbutt or dash straight.
Abel in response: block headbutt -> falling sky grab or roll through dash straight -> punish with command throw or rekka.

Rog's Ultra is punishable after the 4th hit.

Abel's Marseilles Roll ^^^^s up Rog's ^^^^. I have no problems with Balrogs.

haha... I just broke 3K BP and I was so happy. But then I got my @SS handed to me a few times by some mid/high 3k players and now I'm back down to 2800 :(

:lol :lol

hahah... speaking of Zangief-rape, this isn't entirely SFIV-related, but it's still crazy...

^^ The combos at around 1/3 through the video were terrifying.

What's funny is that the same 2D Zangief character sprite was used for the majority of SF games.

No offense, you probably play scrubs and newbs. You'll be at SDCC right? Enter the Capcom SF4 tournament they'll have.

I'll be competing in some tournaments at the SFIV National Tournament Finals in San Francisco on April 18. Not sure if I'm going to SDCC this year, but I see what I can do.

Anyway, about your comment regarding my skills - You can think what you want, but you've never played me, and I could just as easily call you a scrub. I've backed up my comments about Abel vs Rog in my previous post with opinions and info from some of the best players on Shoryuken.com (the best SF forum, bar none) and some concrete moves that work on Rog, and you've provided nothing. I'm not saying Rog isn't dangerous. He is, but taking him down isn't as far reached as you may think.

California Regionals match Shoo vs. BustaBust:

Or you can watch a BustaBust Abel match against Gootecks (arguably one of the best Balrogs in the U.S).

That video doesnt really back up your point dude.

You say that you pretty much destroy balrogs with your abel....yet the video clearly shows a different story.

The balrog player screwed up big time in the 2nd round where it would have been match over. He could have linked his ultra right after his super.

In the 3rd round, Abel nearly squeeked out a win by an impatient Rog.

I never explicitly said "I destroy balrogs", but I don't have problems against him. Marseilles Roll does mess up Rog's game. ktjn makes it out to seem like Rog holds dominion on all SF characters that aren't high tier. By posting the video I wasn't trying to appoint my Abel as the be-all-end-all of characters, just that it isn't as hard to take down Rog as some may think.

I just went on youtube and quickly searched for a BustaBust Abel vid. If you don't think the above is on point, you can find some others.

Look, I don't want to ruffle feathers here or anything, so I'm going to drop this Abel vs. Rog discussion. I'll save that for SRK. Oh, I do recommend anyone here who hasn't, drop by SRK if you want a dedicated SFIV discussion board.

If either one of you 2 play on the 360 hit me up darthmatrix GGC

Definitely, I'll keep that in mind. Going up against skilled Sagats is brutal. :lol

My thoughts exactly...

Has anyone here tried playing "Rose Ball" Sudden death? Looks fun. :lol
