I do but I'm also terrified of it, the thing is 1 in 4 girls my age now have hpv or hsv1. So you need to get to know someone pretty well before you do and tbh by that time and if you have to ask, hey your clean right, some of the magics gone. Why I find I usually end up hooking up with a friend of a friend that I've at least loosely known a few months.

I won't even share a smoke or a beer with people anymore, I'm seriously paranoid and want to stay vd free. I don't even use glasses at friend's houses, I just bring my own water bottle to refill.

HSV1 is not the same as genital herpes(hsv2), its cold sores or fever blisters, most people don't realise that is herpes.(80 percent of adults have hsv1 and usually contact it as a child) And yes you can indeed get both from simply kissing on the mouth and swapping spit or even sharing a glass, cig, towel etc even if they don't have a cold sore present at the time.

Further more you can then transfer it to the genitals causing HSV2 or genital herpes. My friend in college was bringing girls back to the house every week and he now has hsv1 on his lip and he has to take valtrax because he gets a burning outbreak every other month. Hasn't slowed him down at all, still hooks up with a new girl almost every week(when he doesn't have an outbreak) and the fact that women know and still hook up with him makes me even more paranoid.

You can actually get meningitis from HSV-1.
