I would get a price quote and tell them you will only refund them for the broken remote. I think that's ******** that ebay takes the side of the buyer so much when they charge a **** ton of money from the sellers. ugh. I would threaten to leave ebay if they basically hold you at fault. I've done this before and they said they would cover the refund and I wouldn't be held accountable.

Also, keep them honest and ask for "proof" that the remote doesn't work. Anyone can get an item and say it doesn't work. IF they want to send it back, just let them (they pay shipping costs). Sound like people you don't want to deal with. I'd still suggest reporting them if it comes out that they can't provide proof or the controller actually works. They have to be able to prove it. I'm sorry to hear that you are going through this. I wish there was another alternative over ebay.

I agree, it sucks. What do you mean by get a price quote? (Sorry, I don't really sell much, or when I do, I never ran into a problem like this). The lady on the phone said the buyer has the eBay Money Back Guarantee protection and they could easily send the entire package back for me to test if it was working or not and would be eligible for a full refund despite my No Returns selection when I listed the item. It really sucks because why have that option in the first place then? I'm not sure how they can prove that it doesn't work, they claim that its a sensor problem since they have a Wii already and this was a gift for someone else. I don't have one so if they sent back the remote itself, I don't know how I could test it, but I have a feeling they want to send back the entire thing and just leave it be, so I want to maybe come to a middle point in regards to their partial refund request. eBay has like no protection for its sellers...

I just hope he's agreeable and not greedy. Good luck.

They wanted a full $50 for the remote and some shipping, but I already shipped it with their payment so it would essentially be money out of my own pocket if I were to partially refund the shipping. I explained that the remote isn't my fault nor theirs, it's the manufacturer's, so I pleaded to help split the costs to help them out as a favor. Do you think I should offer $25 or $30 or less?

I don't think it would make any difference. Ebay sides with the buyer. Buyer makes a claim and it's money back guarantee.

Probably not since they 99% of the time side with the buyer no matter what. I have seen it in auctions though.

I don't know anything about them but look them up on eBay to see what they're going for.

Different generation, different attitudes, different research. And there's money to be made from taxing the sale of it, that doesn't hurt.

I just hope it's not screwed up like everything else when the government or big business gets involved. I would never buy pot that isn't home grown. I can imagine what will be put in it if it's treated the same as cigarettes.
