Re: !

How reliable is CCG Armory? It's obvious that their online cart system does not update the amount of stock that is left for an item.

They are funky. I ordered a HT Comedian figure from them just the other day since they were the only place I could find it in stock.
I placed my order, including Priority Mail shipping. I got an email the next day for UPS tracking, which never updated all day. I did some Googling and found a LOT of negative reviews regarding their shipping and in-stock status.
I contacted them and after a few back and forth emails (very polite) they told me there was some mistake with the UPS carrier, yadda yadda. Eventually they offered to expedite shipping over the weekend and I got my figure yesterday.
So they did come through but I had to stay on top of them, which is basically what a lot of the negative reviews said. Other people complained that things listed as "in-stock" were not but they had to initiate communication in order to get a refund.

Short version - I got my figure but I won't use them again.

Too bad, it appears SFGenre is sold out too (it updates after you add it to the cart) and I'm not sure I trust CCG's inventory enough to place an order with them, since they don't have an easy way to cancel. I think what I might do is take my chances with the secondary market when (if?) the figure comes out.. Thanks for the links though!

Yeah, I'm not trying to bash the place as I did get my order but it was weird. I asked them why they switched my shipping to UPS and they said they find it more reliable than Priority.
So why offer Priority?

I hate to say it, but I think this movie is gonna bomb.

Rant time.

Yeah, what if this movie's not much more than a re-telling of "Return to Oz" by way of a video game? So far to me from the previews it just screams "Dear 14yr old boy, you will absolutely love this movie.....but you're all alone in that regard."

I'm hesitant about the mixed-genre stuff working here too. Do I mix SW, LOTR, & Superhero figures all together on a shelf and think I've stumbled onto some great idea here? No, of course not, it would look ridiculous. I mean, mixing Samuari, Dragons, Sci-Fi, and WWII German-esque zombie soldiers?! That makes me think of something like this pix;

Pretty cool, huh? :yess:

And just because a glorified glee-clubber, a Lemony Snicket brat, an Owl of Ga'Hoole, & Chi-Chi from Dragonball Z are firing guns or swinging swords in "Zac Synder Slo-Mo" doesn't mean you're getting quality story-telling either. Think back to the Night Owl & Silk Spectre sex scene.... :shudders: (followed by) :inappropriate laughter:

And why hasn't there been even ONE leaked review yet and the movie is in theatres in less than 10 days? That tells me the studio is hiding it until the last possible moment. Usually if a movie is promising, a "buzz" starts to materialize that preceeds its' release. Besides the 'WTF reaction' to the trailer, where's the buzz been for this?

:cricket: :cricket: :cricket: :cricket: :cricket:

Exactly. In addition to the rumors that this movie has tested poorly with test audiences, now comes word that Warner Brothers is holding its preview screening for critics for this movie at 10 pm the Wed. BEFORE the movie opens, after print deadlines. Starting to see the picture here, folks?

I'm not particularly a Zac hater, in fact, I'll defend most parts of Watchmen & 300, but has this guy ever had a movie that wasn't just completely dogged by critics??? If this one under-performs or even bombs I'll really start to feel sorry for poor Kal-El...

So I'll try to keep my expectations low and hope for a decently entertaining movie (for the month of March), but as to the purpose of this forum, I'll never understand why some peeps will spend hundreds of dollars on movie merch for a flick they, and apparently no one else, has even seen. :cuckoo:

End of rant.

All of that time and effort for a movie that you think will bomb. sad.

I don't WANT it to be bad, my man. I hope it all comes together in a way I'm just struggling to envision right now. Just trying to read the tea leaves...

And for the record, I wasn't taking any personal pot-shots at anybody here either. In fact, if memory serves me correctly, I was one of few who rose-up in your defense before they permanently banned you from the rebelscum boards. If that was a different "nash", then my apologies.

I didnt know you spoke up for me, so thank you for that and rightfully so. I was banned there for speaking up against an individual holding thousands of dollars hostage from 15 individuals. I spoke up for all of you, not just for myself. I called that person out on being shady and delivering a sub-part product and got banned for it.

Needless to say, it really did not matter to me then, and still to this day does not matter to me now. Rebelscum is a joke and not many people who have been in this hobby and around that place long enough have respect for the administration there. If you don't agree, go there and see how dead it is compared to 4 or 5 years ago when all of these 12" figures, statues and collectibles started to hit its peak in popularity.

Back on topic, I think the movie has potential...but of course im not so ignorant to think that this will be an oscar contender. I think for what it is, it will be fine, and its target audience will be pleased.

So the movie is out tomorrow, any word on when the Babydoll statue will appear? The release date seems to vary between the different e-tailer sites.

It's going to be like 300: all visual flair, shallow everything else.

I still want the figures though.

I hope it is a good movie, but even if it bombs I will still be very happy with my decision to pre-order all 3 statues...as long as they look close to the prototypes!!
