Lol at "asking for my wife." ;) As for was it any good, not really. It held my interest for a decent portion but really fizzled out by the end.

No I really was asking for my wife because we can't agree lately on anything to watch together. She would have killed me if she had to sit though Suicide Squad. Hoping to find something that I can sit thru with her.

Well you guys can revisit Demolition Man and laugh (or cry) at how well the ridiculously pathetic future society that Stallone wakes up in matches the real world today, lol.

:lol I always kind of liked that movie because it seemed somehow realistic about its future. Except maybe the 3 shells. But I caught this again somewhat recently and it is very prophetic.

That said, Demolition Man is not her speed. She watches *** in the City, Younger, Housewives of somewhere, Friends... its a nightmare.

From recent things, I liked Pig (2021). "Those Who Wish Me Dead" (the Jolie flick) is a step down compared to Sheridan's previous films. "The Gambler" with MarkyMark is a flick that I really like but nobody ever mentions and it's relatively recent. "Vox Lux" I feel was ignored when it's a pretty memorable movie. "Personal Shopper" (2016) is in a similar vein, atmosphere wise. The Safdie Bros made two very good films in recent years, "Good Time" & "Uncut Gems". A film that I think of from time to time, but can't decide whether I like it or not, is "Waiting For The Barbarians".

Off the top of my head that's what's stuck with me over the last few years. Some I just watched recently and are fresh in my mind. If I give it a whirl I could come up with more, but I'm just throwing stuff out there now. New movies come out every week.

Sandra Bullock: "Wanna go see a Disney movie?"

Stallone: "Wha? No!"

Sandra Bullock: "Oh you don't understand, Disney won the Studio Wars. So all films are Disney now."

After reading up on these, perhaps Vox Lux or Personal Shopper is good for her. Although she loves fluff tv, her favorite movies are Zero Dark Thirty, Silence of the Lambs and Seven.

Love and Thunder sounds like a perfect title for both of you!

Lets break down just how dumb this movie is shall we lol

Starro:

Feared alien kaiju creature with huge eye that will easily take over the world!

Military and scientists are super fearful of creature!

Killed by a single stab to the eye by a long needle (aka javelin)

So if all it took was a single needle stab to it’s huge eye why didn’t the bullets and RPG’s not penetrate the soft eye then!

Bloodsport shoots it on the arms which did nothing but he couldn’t shoot it in the eye!

This creature was a ZERO threat to the world.

A threat easily put down just by simple planes and tanks hell even just soldiers.

She does like Marvel though. I think she likes the soap opera nature of the continuing stories. And she liked Wanda and Vision's love story... BEFORE she watched Wandavision. Now she doesn't care for either of them.

Harley didn't kill Starro, or do anything really, thousands upon thousands of rats did. They stopped it before it grew bigger, if it grew bigger they probably couldn't have stopped it.

I'm guessing that the hole Harley cut wasn't enough to take it down but it was the gateway for all the rats to enter and do the real damage.
True but it was blind by then lol

But my point is if a needle can penetrate the eye why couldn’t any other weapon :slap

I don't get the point of the carnivore, bright colored jellyfish. Just needed KS to be dumb with and fight something?

It was pretty eye rolling (no pun intended) how most of the movie played up Harley's "what am I supposed to do with the spear????" when it had long been revealed that they were going to face a monster with a single 50 foot eyeball, lol. Yeah Harley I have no idea...
