Suicide Squad 2 to be directed by James Gunn

After reading up on these, perhaps Vox Lux or Personal Shopper is good for her. Although she loves fluff tv, her favorite movies are Zero Dark Thirty, Silence of the Lambs and Seven.

I hope you both like them. They've been forgotten, but I found both very engaging.

Everybody loves The Suicide Squad. Great review scores. This was needed after ZSJL left a poor taste in the mouth and a real **** stain on DC. That movie is already forgotten. Seems like this one washed that all away.

It’s not forgotten by the Snyder cult fantards who gave this film bad reviews.
Read somewhere that joss whedon is a mole for marvel and that’s why Endgame is a rip off of justice league. These idiots lack brain cells

Complaining about stupid scenes in this movie, which is kinda part of the point with Gunn, but just gleefully ignore the literal two hours of stupid **** in deadly serious ZSJL. Lois buys a coffee! Aquaman shirt smeller! Aquaman takes shirt off! Oh yeah TOTALLY not dumb and TOTALLY serious.

Oh, and for the record, if nobody ever read the comics, this is what Bloodsport looked like when he was introduced.

His only trick was that his bullets were Kryptonite tipped, which was referenced in the movie. That was all. If they changed him later after I stopped reading comics, I have no idea.

according to this interview with a german outlet superman was the main villain in the first draft

" Suicide Squad " received a lot of criticism in 2016. One of the reasons for this is that the team of forcibly recruited super villains and antiheroesses is used against a villain duo, against whom Deadshot's firearms, Harley Quinn's baseball bat and Killer Crocs sharp teeth can't do much anyway: namely the overpowering Enchantress (Cara Delevigne) and Incubus (Alain Chanoine).
In " The Suicide Squad ", James Gunn only apparently makes the same mistake as his predecessor David Ayer when he takes Task Force X with firearms (Bloodsport, Peacemaker), spears (Harley Quinn) and teeth (King Shark) against the overpowering giant starfish Starro can compete. But then Starro turns out to be the perfect addition to the fireworks of madness that Gunn is burning down here.

Would it all work just as well if Gunn had actually stuck to his original plans? This is of course difficult to judge. In any case, Gunn wanted to send the Suicide Squad into the fight against an out of control Superman at the very beginning of the project, as he reveals to us in an exclusive interview:
"When I started writing The Suicide Squad, one idea was that they would fight Superman."
Gunn continues: “The Suicide Squad has to catch Superman for some reason. That was all, just a vague idea. It's gotten out of hand or is being controlled by someone. And then this group of lousy super villains has to face the most powerful hero in the world. I like this idea and if DC does this sequel, then please not without me. "
THERE IS STILL A REMNANT OF SUPERMAN
In November 2017, a fairly reliable source said that the Suicide Squad had to track down and eliminate a weapon of mass destruction in its second adventure , which would then turn out to be Black Adam - played by Dwayne Johnson , who was already engaged for the role at the time , who is now finally instead gets his own " Black Adam " movie.
In between, at least in James Gunn's head, Superman was the central threat before he finally decided on Starro. But a remnant of Superman can still be found in the final script, after all in "The Suicide Squad" we learn that Bloodsport is in Belle Reve prison because he seriously injured Superman with a kryptonite bullet ..

If I were you, I would take TheDucky's advice and let the past die, move on without Snyder.

Oh, and one more for guys who weren't longtime DC readers....this is what Pete Davidson's character is based on:

Booster Gold enemies tended to be completely forgettable.

Speaking of Booster Gold, his costume was almost identical to Javelin's, but with the colors reversed. Javelin's costume was one of the most faithful I've seen in any super hero movie, and that kind of shows how ridiculous those costumes are when filmed in live action. So that question we've all been asking since the Keaton Batman movie, "Why did they change the costume??" Well....guys like Javelin are why. Looks fine in a comic book, but looks absolutely ridiculous in "real life."

(Ooof...you know this guy was a jobber if he only got a half-page in the 1985 edition of Who's Who in the DC Universe. Only the most minor characters got a half page. Animal Man only had a half-page, too...that's how insignificant he was before Grant Morrison got his hands on him!)

There are people who think The Suicide Squad was good…and then there are people who think Last Jedi and Rise of Skywalker were good…I’m happy to be in the camp that thought The Suicide Squad was good.
