platty, ah no painting is not my forte and though I think it makes more money than sculpting, I don't enjoy it as much :)

Still, even if painting is not your thing, you're getting better & better
at it with each one you do.

I would love to see you work the viens & scar on Van Zan's
head. Some color in them with a light translucent covering of skin tone.

I've ordered some translucent paints for my airbrush, going
to play around with them to see how effective they are.
Have you tried any?

Anyway; I still love your eyes and sweat effect you have on your paint up
of Van Zan.

:hi5:

I wish I could paint like that bud! :lol

Which sculpt is that bottom row, 2nd from our right? Underneath the gray vanzan cast.

I think you have a nack for Matrix stuff! I have your Neo and it's unbelievable. Your new Morpheous is perfect and so is the older Mifune sculpt!

Ah that long haired sculpted? It was Gaius Baltar from Battlestar Galactica. definitely not one of my best. I'm hoping to re-do one day:panic:

I actually used more pastels on the semi-translucent because I didn't have the translucent paint. But Nathan (silentsurfer) used translucent paints on my Christopher Reeve which turned out amazing. It was actually quite hard to show the detail on the sculpt with the translucent casting for some reason. I had to do a lot of dry brushing to show the detail

I have your Christopher Reeve Superman sculpt Daniel. I've never used translucent paints before. I was planning on painting it and putting it on the body for the Mattel Reeve Superman that's supposed to be out this Christmas time. :)

available next next month, and Kuato (chris) will be doing Tommy Lee Jones to accompany him since I know no one wants post one Men In Black character by himself:) :hi5:

weight was added to the I am legend face, hair swapped, facial hair added

Wow...unbelievable work Daniel :horror I'm kind of being forced to put a hold on future customs, so seeing this makes me extremely :monkey2

I just may buy these depending on how Tommy turns out.

I don't have a lot of funds right now either, but the heads will be affordable, and I could bash them easily down the road. Here's one custom set that no one would complain about 'just being guys in suits.'

Wonder if anyone could make a couple of the baddass guns from the movie...

I'll send him a message and see what's up... :(

that's definitely my sculpt
but he edited the eyes and lips.
I would know because I actually did that as well for my Se7en version...

I asked him/her to not sell recasts of the sculpt, even if it's edited.

I don't mind when customizers like Darren do this with the hugely mass produced head sculpts like Sideshow,
but to me it's a bit different since my head sculpt was not as mass produced and I do intend to release it again for Korea and China/Taiwan customers soon.

thanks for the heads up johnny

No problem man, I'm glad I helped out. It's a shame people do this in spite of other people's talent and effort, I mean, he didn't do squat and he's going to pocket $40+, easy money. But at the end of the day, there will be someone interested and is willing to pay no matter what, I'm guilty of doing this also, because I recently purchased an Enterbay Bruce Lee recasted head for a bash (not from this guy if you are wondering) and I needed one, I guess it depends on ones ethics. :(

Other than asking him to not sell it, is there any action you could take? I mean legal action.

Its just a single modded scupt no? Its not a copy he made, hes allowed to mod the sculpt and sell it, just not mod it, and sell copies.

Hey guys, I can actually clear this up...

The seller of that head is actually who I sent my Tyler and Norton sculpts to for paint. He wanted to edit the lips and eyes on the sculpt before he painted it, which I said was alright. I wasn't happy with the results, so I asked them to change a few things.

Needless to say I was surprised when I saw the head for sale, as the pics were of my sculpt before he corrected some edits that I wasn't fond of. Here is my inquiry about the sale, and his response:

Myself:

Hey Joe, so what's the story behind this?

https://cgi.ebay.com/Hot-Toys-Tyler-D...item563f1273d0

Did you end up purchasing another sculpt from someone? If it's a recast, that's kind of frowned upon :(

His reply:

Hey Dane,

Damn, I thought I told you I had to recast the head in order to redo the texturing on your tyler head. You actually have the recasted head and I'm selling the smoothed out original head (which is why this head has the bruis under ther right eye).

The only way I could redo the texturing on the face was to recast it as doing the holes in the skin was easier on the resin than with the putty I used to remod your original head (hope that makes sense). I have no intentions of profitting of this sculpt (otherwise, I would have recasted the ed norton head too).
